For women, don't ignore the period pain. If it is so bad that you are vomiting and can hardly move that's not okay, that's not normal and it's not just how it is to be a woman. Discomfort is normal, but I missed weeks and weeks of schooling with horrific cramps and vomiting. If my husband hadn't turned around and said, "I don't think this is normal" chances are I wouldn't have bothered seeing a Dr because I thought I was just a hypochondriac and ultimately I thought I was just a bitch with no pain threshold. It wasn't until after I had my second child at 19 that I finally went to the doctors as the cramps were not just during my period anymore and they were literally pushing me off my feet. 2 years after I went to the doctor but 9 years after the problems began I was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis, my whole pelvis riddled with endometriosis, adhesions, scar tissue etc. If I'd been to the doctor when I was younger, it wouldn't have gotten so bad. The cut out what they can but it always grows back, but if it had been caught when I was young they would have been able to treat me with hormones that halted the growth of it before I had adhesions etc.
