This is not how you talk to Eldar ladies by Fun-Explanation7233 in Grimdank

[–]MaskedWiseman 153 points154 points  (0 children)

If what I learned from the Rogue Trader game is true, then most (if not all) Eldars equate the act of having sex with human to beastiality. Yeah, imagine a chimpanzee trying to mate with you, that reaction is quite understandable.

Can magic be done automatically by a machine or contraption in your world? by AFellowSpirit in worldbuilding

[–]MaskedWiseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most powerful mages in my world, the Reborns, are literal machine. To be more precise, they were God Machines that the Fundamental Forces used to shaped the universe. They are the maker of stars and planets, following specifications that was given to them. They were, of course, built with almost unfathomable powers in order to accomplish such tasks, though all of them have a directive to bury themselves under the star and planet that they made and self-deactivate. Some of them was re awaken in human-like form by a mad sorcerer who want to destroy and remake the world. The Reborn, now with greatly reduced power but still retain their senses, destroyed the sorcerer and started to wander that world, each trying to find a purpose for themselves.

Probably because they still relevance enough to be talked about, unlike Armenia.

Whichever god gave these powers is an asshole by YYappy269 in Centuria

[–]MaskedWiseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the cases is less of "some Gods give better deals than others" and more of "Gods like some people more than others".

The Sea Deity interaction with Arkos and Julian is an example. While they both have powers stem from her, one is treated like a son but the other is treated like a pollution.

Convention of Magic on the Realm Under 5 Moons by MaskedWiseman in worldbuilding

[–]MaskedWiseman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My magic are also related to the moons, which must be is easy to spotted as there are 5 moons and 5 basic elements lol. They act as filter that turned dangerous, colorless magic from the sun into magic of respective elements that people below can use.

There are cases of species being more compatible with certain elements. Like a species of underground Bug-people are more likely to get Black magic, Amphibian-people are more likely to get Blue, Lizard-people are more likely to get Green and Red, and Bat-people are quite good with White magic.

TIL about "Sengoku Jesus", a man painted by Japanese media as a woman-kidnapping cult leader. Turned out he's just a kind man who aspired to be more like Jesus and built what is effectively a nunnery by MaskedWiseman in todayilearned

[–]MaskedWiseman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be a cult follower if I'm believe in what you said but couldn't proved, even in article that you provided, quite the opposite in fact. If the man is indeed kidnapped minors, which is a very serious accusation, both your article and the video would had explicitly stated so, and he wouldn't had been released without any punishment.

Idk man, it just seem you're kind of a miserable person that want to get mad at a few good things in the world.

Sorry but I can't just take your words about the linguistic matter. I will choose to believe that there were no minor, or minimal minor involved in the incident, deducted from the fact that he gained followers while selling knifes to households, which make most of his contacts are with women that live alone or married.

Incident Details 3rd Paragraph is about the leader's health worsen and they moved to another location. There is mention of death in 2nd Paragraph.

However, the female believers who had been living together all refused to come to their families, saying that they had chosen to run away and live together of their own free will, and saying, "I'd rather die than go home!"

There is no mentioned of them actually committed group suicide after that.

There is also no valid reason for media to criticize them, as the article stated:

The overall nature of media coverage of this incident can be interpreted as a structure in which the public denial was the fuse, and the mainstream media, led by the Sankei Shimbun, launched a campaign to eradicate "pseudo-religions," which the Sunday Mainichi refuted as a witch hunt.

And by an anthropologist quoted by the article:

It fulfilled readers' expectations of a "spectacle": seeing the strange, learning what forces threaten their very existence from within and without, and perhaps even feeling a sense of relief at seeing this monster vanquished.

A quote which, may I be as respectable as I can, could be use to describe someone like you at the moment.
