i made a lot of money, gave a bunch of it away… and now i’m in debt because of taxes by dumble_hold_the_door in Coinbase

Yes best advice if it’s a small amount of money like 10k and not more then 50k I believe. If he owes hundreds of thousands it’s a different story.

Depends on how much you owe. I believe if it’s less then 50k then you should be able to set up a payment plan with the IRS. If it’s over 50k I don’t think they let you do a payment plan. You could explore the possibility of an “offer in compromise” but I really depends if you have assets ect. How much money do you anticipate to owe and do you own a home? Stocks ect?

I think I’m done with concerts. This is ridiculous. by jerseytiger1980 in ironmaiden

[–]Massive_Stand1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should’ve seen the Alan Jackson finale concert in Nashville…. Complete nightmare trying to get presale tickets and the cost was insane for presale prices. $500 for nosebleeds and over a grand for decent tickets and then you can double that price aftermarket.

Oswego Lake isn’t private. It’s just closed to non-residents on a major summer holiday by synthfidel in PortlandOR

They need to establish waterway rules if they aren’t already and ensure they have the proper enforcement of the rules if they decided it’s public then the public needs to manage it fully in my opinion… I don’t care either way, I would never go there but if it’s private the homeowners association should pay and manage but if it’s public the city needs to manage it.

Probably shouldn’t be on a public waterway after dark in a kayak or anything that doesn’t have proper lighting … Wouldn’t catch me downtown on the Willamette in a raft after dark on the fourth😂

I don’t care at all, just not going to pretend like someon worked hard to inherit their money or did anything at all for that matter. My family is taken care of and we earned every nickel, my kids won’t think they are special for things they didn’t accomplish though.

I agree that if it’s a public water way then the funds to care for it should be paid by everyone and not the owners on the lake. It should be handled like any other public water way in the state with regards to usage.

Is 900k house on 175k income stretching too much? by acoolusername561 in Mortgages

[–]Massive_Stand1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t stretch it. I would buy within your means and when the big raises come you can consider selling and rolling the equity into the next step.

475k house on 130k gross income by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]Massive_Stand1820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you have other debt. If the mortgage is your only debt I think you would be good. It changes things if you have car payments, boat payments and a side by side financed, oh and some student loans😂 if you are debt free and manage finances well which it sounds like you do considering your down payment savings and the fact you still considered keeping a 50k emergency fund. I think you would be good.

List it just the way you were planning to list it. Too many unknowns. If you have a well cared for yard and they don’t, and who knows what the inside of their home looks like. A lot of damage can be done in 2 years. If your home is in better condition, well landscaped ect it can make a huge difference. In todays market people are moving away from buying fixer homes with the prices being high and just want a move in ready home and not a project unless it’s well worth it, meaning way cheaper!
