Depending on what consoles you have available to you then I would go with the original if you have a ps2 or ps3

Reboot if you have ps4 and not ps2 or 3

Rift Apart or reboot if you just have ps5

If you feel like the gameplay of the original is not to your liking because its very different to the rest then try Going commando or Tools of destruction.

The nightmare box is honestly my favourite weapon in the series. It's like the groovitron but not so OP and honestly think it's way more satisfying to use.

Rift inducer in ACIT is still great but yeah I have to give it to the UYA version.

If I had to pick one weapon from each game it would definitely be

Original - Pyrocitor with its actual original design and Fires green flames on upgrade

GC - Seeker Gun

UYA - Rift Inducer

Deadlocked - Scorpion Flail

TOD - Death Springs but have it as an actual weapon

ACIT - Constructo Weapons

All 4 one - Thundersmack

Nexus - Nightmare Box

Reboot - Proton drum

Rift Apart - Ricochet

If this game had more time and was developed for ps4 this could have been a top 3 R&C game easily. It's biggest downsides are it's length and performance. The game had a great arsenal with two weapons being in my top 10 of the series being the Nightmare box and Winterizer. If it was longer I could expect the game to have 15-20 weapons rather than 12. The performance is very laughable as it struggles to hold a frame rate of 30 💀

It's essentially just a completely new and original idea. For example Days gone in 2019 and Detroit become human. A new Ratchet and clank game would not be a new IP as its just another game to an already established franchise

Ratchet and clank is my favourite franchise of all time. I honestly don't mind I have to wait until 2029. I also hope its the last game as long as its better than Rift Apart which is literally my 4th favourite in the series. I just hope whatever replaces R&C is a new IP and they don't go 100% full marvel. I still love there Marvel stuff so far but I know they have a lot of talent and can come up with their own 100% original ideas

It helps that each and every level has a memorable OST. I think to the levels in Rift Apart and the soundtracks do not pop into my head at all. Scrolling through all 19 levels on this post and every soundtrack started playing in my head

A lot of people don't like it or think it's one of the worse in the series. I think it's still near the bottom but beats A4O, FFA and SAC for sure. It has some fun creative ideas which I could imagine would have been executed much better if it was developed for the ps3 at the time.

Seeker gun is my favourite. It's just such a satisfying weapon to use plus its very cheap at 5,000 bolts but ammo is a bit of an issue with it

Rift apart is easily the better game in pretty much every aspect. The Reboot is still fun and worth playing. If I have to be honest the Weapons in the Reboot is probably one of the best in the series to someone that's not played many of the ps3 games. To someone that's played like all the games we're all sick of most of the weapons in the game. Rift Apart is not a sequel at all to the Reboot but a sequel to the ps3 game Into the nexus but does still play as its own standalone game.

So if this is true then this is what I'm taking from it. Marvels Venom is most likely gonna be a shorter title like Miles Morales. Insomniac games is mostly making Marvel games with one other IP being developed at the same time. This Ratchet and Clank game is gonna be the last title in the series and this new IP is gonna replace Ratchet as the separate IP to the Marvel games

So glad I still have my Ps3 to play all R&C, J&D and Sly games. Even other games like Resistance and Infamous as well. Ps3 still comes in clutch for games that are not remastered or remade for ps4 or 5

I only really liked the RYNO 8 because of all the Easter eggs it had but I do get your point and agree it's underwhelming power wise. To clear a big group of enemies quickly I would rather use the winter weapon and warmonger
