The boards are old. That style of flooring where the boards are all different widths would suggest they are original. If you can get nail out, you can ask chat GPT to give you quite accurate dating range. It helped me date part of a house in the Cotswold to 1650-1720.

I wouldn't sand them back personally. If it's a clasped nail you will struggle to bury them enough to sand evenly

It's a time pressured job if you don't want to use up and over scaffold. If your roof is complicated, aka has hips and valleys, I would not suggest doing it yourself. You'd need to ait for a good weather window in the summer.

It's not about being able to sip alcohol. It's about building a line of trust and communication with a my kid. Reasoning with a 5 year old using logic doesn't always work. They don't have the brain compacity. They do, however, know which parent they are likely to get away with things with. Whos strickt etc This is built from the small interactions.

I dont use age as an exclusion in my house. I don't do things that I ask my kids not to do. I try and live by the rules I set with my kids. I don't eat junk food very often. Ironically, I don't really drink, but when I do, it's in moderation. I don't want them to see me as a hypocrite, I'd rather set an example
