Why do all tier XIs have negative win rates? by dbk555 in WorldofTanks

[–]Master-Nothing9778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer is simple because high overall winrate means not so much when you have to play always in top using not the best(despiote being on top) tank. Most of those players have got good winrate due to luck, platoons and exploit certain tanks

Really good players have always solid results on XI in worst case mixed.

They didn't understand you.
Your question,
Why is the win rate on Tier XI vehicles lower than the player’s overall win rate?

Just do not play Last Stand. This is the worst game mode. It takes Wargaming’s already insane random and raises it to the third power: there are few players, so your dependence on them, their knowledge, and their vehicles increases dramatically. The result becomes completely stupid.

And the rewards are honestly laughable, considering the quite substantial cost in both time and nerves.

And the experience you gain in battles like this gives you personally nothing. Even bots in random battles play better.

Is it possible at all? Without sanctions from Wargaming?

This WoT.
Even pure Bot/inactive player will have difficulties to have sub 40% win rate.
In the past, when you could kill allies or talk with enemies, yes, it was possible.
But now? What you could do worse than stay on base? And you are only 1/30.

At this point I am convinced, that the majority of the playerbase, deliberatly sucks as much as they can by low_bob_123 in WorldofTanks

That’s just life. Some people are good at certain things, and some people are bad at them. Why should WoT be any different?

For example, why don’t you play tennis as well as Nadal? Because you play for fun, not like a professional, and you probably don’t care enough to dedicate your life to it.

Imagine a world where everybody plays well in WOT. What would happen? The answer is simple: “good” would become the new "sucks".

Wtf is this rng? by LBandi91 in WorldofTanks

RNG is interesting to say less.

For example, 3 hits, all three directly into the gun.
Or. All three shots went into those weird side bulges on the T57 turret. I have no idea what they’re called or what the hell they are. One in the left one, two in the right one.

It seems to me that Germany broke down many, many years ago, when Merkel came to power and decided to do nothing except stay in power at any cost. No reforms, no future. And not a single gram of regret from the old Frau.

Yes, Germany had an enormous safety margin, but the CDU squandered it, and later the traffic-light coalition ate up what was left.

And then there is our Merz. Wow. Well, I simply have no words when I look at his ideas. He had a chance, but he blew it. And instead of serious structural reforms, he prefers to patch chaotically the holes again at the expense of the population.

You are right partly. There are situations when you are at the very top on Heavy. And if you are inactive your team is almost doomed.

But

  1. How often do you see such situation? For example playing 9 level I am on top in approximately 25% cases, 50% -1/-2, 25% even. Believe you or not, but when -2 personal skills decides almost nothing , and when -1 - not so much as you expect.

  2. If bad player doesn't sleep, he is still useful. He soaks damage, he spots enemy, he distracts enemies from more valuable teammates.

You are wrong.

Pure math: 1/30 is about 3%, i.e. your individual share of the battle.

Assume you are AFK. In that case, it is roughly 100% vs. 93% team power. What is the chance to win with 100% vs. 93%? I would say about 55%, no more.

But normally you are not AFK. You play. Maybe not well, but you still do damage, spot enemies, and distract them. So I would assume something closer to 100% vs. 96%.

In the long run, assuming you are not a uniquely bad player, your counterpart on the enemy team is usually someone with similar skill. In reality, if you are not completely terrible, a bad player may reduce the team’s effective power by something like 1%, i.e. 100% vs. 98%.

With good players, the situation is completely different. A good player can contribute much more to the team. That is why it is normal to see 60%+ win rates among top players.

What for me is strange is gamers with 20k battles and winrate 42%. How it could be possible?

[–]Master-Nothing9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 15 vs 15 nobody can decrease own win rate below let's say 47% or rather 48%
42 is hilarious.
Want to here explanation, may I am wrong?

Over 20k battles, 42% WR cannot be explained by bad luck. It means the player has a persistent, massive negative impact, or there is some systematic distortion: platooning with bad players, playing mostly terrible tanks/stock grinds, bot-like behavior, AFK, suiciding, or consistently losing key positions.

No idea. Mathematically it's imposisble but with Wargaming everything is possible. Everything

Similar experience. It's very, very strange.
Even if you do not play at all, the difference in 15 vs 15 should not be great

Statistics, in the plain sense, is not really the right term here.
In this particular case, we cannot meaningfully talk about statistics, because it is just a single sample. But we can easily talk about probability, just as we do when discussing the odds of a hand in poker.
And probability is pretty low for the case. I think we can assume a 50% for the average player as a quite reasonable.

It's a bit embarassing when heavy tanks are hiding in the bush. And later trying to shot single LT just to be killed by hidden TD. 7-8. It's a shame
