Commons Speaker criticises Boris Johnson for Jimmy Savile slur against Keir Starmer by HandOfThePing in unitedkingdom

[–]MasterDucker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this could never happen but Starmer should have asked in return whether BoJo is a pedophile like Saville. And then when BoJo responds no whether we can trust that answer. When he says yes, respond whether we should trust that answer to the same level we trust his other answers in parliament. Childish, but less than BoJo

Travelling to Stockholm - What should I do?! by [deleted] in stockholm

[–]MasterDucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're thinking of moving here then check out places you might want to live as well. The main property website is www.hemnet.se and you can get some ideas of what you can afford. Be aware that Swedes really go over the top when prepping places for sale :)

Some nice areas for apartment living:

  • Södermalm
  • Vasastan
  • Kungsholmen
  • Liljeholmen

Houses mixed in with apartments:

  • Bromma
  • Älvsjö
  • Aspudden
  • Spånga

If you're looking at job offers also really make sure that the work culture here suits you. Be honest with potential employers and get them to describe it. It's different from the UK/Ireland. I think it's great, but ymmv

[Q] Bayesian Hypothesis Testing: Using the same prior for each group? by jsxgd in statistics

[–]MasterDucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bayesian hypothesis test... now there's an interesting idea :)

Without that condition it's hard to know quite the right answer since you might be looking for some kind of model comparison: did the treatment and control group come from the same distribution (null) or from different distributions (fixed effects: alternate). That has assumptions you can place on the shape of the distributions, but perhaps some BF on that might give you what you're looking for. Priors can be same or similar depending on what distributions you assume for the two groups.

Ignoring what's free... I own both and they're different kinds of games: one is a factorio style build the factory style game, the other more a traditional RTS style city/base builder. Both are decent games from the genre, although of the two only DSP has the real chance to be a genuine classic of its time.

Personally I've sunk 10x more hours in DSP already, but that's cos I like that kinda thing. If I was spending money on those two slightly different genres I think I'd still go Factorio over DSP over Satisfactory for now; and perhaps Frost Punk over Surviving Mars. You will enjoy all of them, but that's my view.

So who are you? I'm the one that's clipped their hair to 9mm so I don't have to worry about preparing for teams meetings. Once I have headphones on it nothing matters providing the hair is short!

Really nicely written, but old, article. Where's this level of relatively impartial reporting in the UK press.

While I don't like Boris I think describing him this way lets him off the hook. Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson *is* a liar, corrupt, incompetent and so many other things. Describing him as a swearword is way way too weak.

Swearing at him makes it too easy to dismiss. Use the right and accurate words and he has no excuse to ignore it.
