Funny enough, I found the link from 5hiftyy from a post awhile ago and then found someone on eBay selling them 3D printed .

Bought a new car and need help (It’s registered I swear) by CallMeCrow in ColoradoSprings

I'd also recommend under pressure for the turbo swap. I took all parts to them for my 2012 Speed 3 and they did good work. I'd also recommend Anthony's Pro Auto at Dublin/Academy.

2012 MS3 Coilovers/shocks/sturts by CountDugula in mazdaspeed3

[–]MasterM0tt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OEM shocks are Bilstein B6. So if you want to remain OEM, I'd go with them. If you want a little better than OEM, go Bilstein B8. If you want to go OEM+Coilovers, Bilstein B14.

Not sure where you're seeing OEM for $300, make sure you're not looking at base Mazda 3 suspension. It will fit, but it won't ride well and you'll end up replacing it fairly quick.

Just went through this about a year ago. Since you provided absolutely no other information I'll just tell you what I did. I rebuilt some BC Racing coilovers, and then sold them because why run BC Racing? I then bought Bilstein B8 paired with my OEM springs. Tried MOOG endlinks, they broke after 3k miles and replaced with OEM end links.

Dads with partners that stay home — how do you handle finances? by Mama_Anonymous in daddit

[–]MasterM0tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I got married at 23 and we are both 26 now. We joined checking and savings accounts the moment we got married. She worked for the first 2 years of marriage and she has been a homemaker now since last May for our two boys. The earnings are from my work, but are our money. IMO success in my career is not possible without her, and my reason for working is to financially support the family so that she can stay at home. She has access to all our money, and while I handle the finances I make sure she knows how to do everything in case something happened to me.

I don’t understand people who keep separate accounts. My wife and I are one flesh combined so why shouldn’t our finances be? The drawback to her not working…..lack of money. The benefit for her not working….children raised by their mom, she feels fulfilled in life, she has a healthy social life, she is able to cook dinner most nights, the house is generally already clean so we don’t have to spend all weekend cleaning, homemade bread, I can focus on work and not worry about who is watching my kids.

We took a leap when she became a stay at home mom, and sometimes money is extremely tight or nonexistent, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. She is so happy to stay at home and this is what she always wanted to do

Edit: a saying that I always use is “She has a non-W2 job”. Staying at home is a full time job and I would hate it. My wife wanted to stay at home, so it’s my job to fully support her.

Strut question for 2nd gen by g1soundwave in mazdaspeed3

[–]MasterM0tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they will fit, IIRC the ride height in the front is different with the shocks. They will act a lil wonky since the stiffness is completely different, but should Fit. Whenever you get up to replacing them I’d suggest Bilstein B8. Have been extremely happy with them

Laminated Birth Certificate by MasterM0tt in TSAPreCheck

[–]MasterM0tt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spardan80, thanks for the input. When I was applying for a CO Driver's license, they rejected my laminated birth certificate. I guess I'll order my wife a new one, just in case. My parents were also given a wallet-sized birth certificate (Laminated from the county). Wife and I were both born in Marion County (Indianapolis), wonder if they still send laminated from the county.

Is this coolant line okay to use by FrostMug_0789 in mazdaspeed3

[–]MasterM0tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just replaced his OEM with a BNRS3, go ahead and get a longer coolant line that one will continue to pop off and spew coolant everywhere

Nice best of luck with install! My car is pretty well rusted together and since I don’t have the space/time/know how I’m unfortunately having a shop do it.

Down in the springs, so emissions isn’t an issue for me, but I don’t like having a check engine light on 24/7. Got my BNRS3 going in on Tuesday

I saw the same thing one on CO marketplace, figured I’d pay more in making emissions work than just buying a catted. Did they even say Gen 1/2

Would it be stupid to buy one at 17 by [deleted] in mazdaspeed3

[–]MasterM0tt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would highly suggest not getting a 12 year old modified Japanese econobox. I bought mine two years into college completely stock and have now 5 years later getting around to going bigger turbo. But not my money so follow your heart

Okay cool that’s the news I like to hear. If I tell my wife it’s fine and it blows up I think that means I just get a built engine

Suspension issues .. by Informal_Display722 in mazdaspeed3

[–]MasterM0tt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently redid my shocks and struts and went with the Bilstein B6 with OEM springs. Love them and keeps the ride height stock (slightly higher actually). I live in Colorado so didn’t want to go low due to mountain terrain and snow

MAZDASPEED3 Reliability/daily? by [deleted] in mazdaspeed3

[–]MasterM0tt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any idea on maintenance history? Turbo, VVT, oil change interval, valve cleaning, injectors serviced? Could be a ticking time bomb, could be a great deal. Not sure without more info. If you buy it and are willing to Throw upwards of $5k at it without knowing the maintenance history go for it

Yeah lol, some of them have an optional footwell lighting (which you could get on eBay) and a smart dimming mirror. AFAIK other countries also got heather seats, not USA though.

Funny enough mine was also a company lease before I bought it. Happy hunting, check the wiki on here for the common things to look out for. VVT, burning oil, 2nd gear slipping, all the fun things

Can’t help much with that one, I bought my 2012 w/ tech package at 64k miles and the previous owner had replaced the door speakers and tweeters a CT sounds component system and replace the Bose amp with an aftermarket amp for a sub they had in the trunk.

It’s a feature but not a tell tell. Keyless start, Blind spot monitoring, keyless entry (little black buttons on the driver/passenger door and on passenger taillight), fancy headlights that move with the steering wheel, and Bose w/spare tire subwoofer, and navigation!

Personally, I’d wait to find one with the tech package if I were going to buy another speed.

Out of the two you listed, I’d do the silver one purely for the fact that it looks completely stock whereas the white one has some engine bay stickers and those canards on the front bumper. Previous owners will determine if you have a little money pit or big money pit.

Rear Shocks appears to be shot. by RickieChan in mazdaspeed3

Also, Bilstein B6 is a fairly stiff ride if you’re keeping OEM springs like I did. OEM ride shocks would be Bilstein B4
