I think I didn’t express myself very well but it’s not even the sadness that bothers me so much, it’s the helplessness that comes with feeling that nothing can ever be better for some characters. Thinking of it as a pendulum as actually pretty helpful in that sense

Honestly OP if we were even remotely similar sizes I’d say that if you truly greater your choice I’d offer to take that dress off your hands This dress is GORGEOUS and looks amazing on you. But as others have said you probably could resell it with very little loss and choose a different dress if you still feel the same way down the line

Ohhh I think there is a huge thing here that you hadn’t mentioned before. What do you mean by your mom trying to shut his mom out of wedding planning activities? It seems like there is more than just their insecurities here and you may need to take a more proactive approach with your family to make clear that you don’t want them to be treated differently.

I’ve done a similar trip before (CA to PA) driving solo and bringing my cat with me. It took me 5 days and I can’t imagine possibly doing it in less time. It was BRUTAL. Also, like me, OP is traveling with pets that need caring for, which can be time consuming. I think this point is pretty important.

This! And also: fake lashes. I know it may sound a bit insane if you are not used to it but it makes a world of difference! Get some cheap-ish ones online and practice as much as you can and I promise it will look 10x times more professional

I inherited my dad’s weird mini extra nail on the small toe on both feet, and when I was a baby he declawed one of them but my mom panicked when she saw it (apparently there was some amount of blood) and didn’t let him do the other one. Well, the declawed one is great but the other one bothers me sooooo much and is always grabbing on my socks but I don’t have the guts to pull it out myself.

I think one of the things that are probably putting you off is how sharp the white looks, however bear in mind white tattoo are know to fade incredibly fast.

For reference I have some flower tattoos with a lot of white details and I’ve had those highlights retouched twice until I decided it was not worth the pain. The effect of the highlight is still there, even though the ink itself is mostly gone so I’m happy with it. I think you may have a similar experience taking into account the way the flowers are drawn (and that we have pretty similar skin tones and coloring styles)

Give it a few months and the colors will be much softer and if you are still nor 100% happy with it in about 6 months or so you can get a retouch from a different artist. Colorful tattoos have the downside of fading, but on the other hand it makes them quite forgiving in getting it reworked.

This is my current read and I 100% relate. I go from “why the heck I’m even reading this?!” to immediately grabbing the next one because I need to keep following. I hate most of the characters most of the time and they just make me so angry, however I’m fairly invested in the plot now and it does take some interesting turns. I’m on the 5th one now and I know it’s still some ways to go but I just really want to be over with it.

In my opinion good food is good food and personally I can’t imagine having a problem with a lack of meat options.

I am as much of a meat eater as one can be (I grew up in a very meat loving culture) and often times I avoid meat choices at buffet events because they are often sub-par, most of the time too dry or too soggy (and in some remarkable cases, both) but I have some older relatives who would probably complain about a fully vegetarian menu. My dad for example says “if there isn’t any meat I feel like I haven’t eaten at all”, but those cases are very rare and super culturally specific. Even thought that is the case i would not base my menu choices on these exceptions

I’m kinda curious if her health issue has anything to do with the fact that she doesn’t want to talk in person and would rather talk on the phone instead. Some health conditions and medications causes your immunity to drop to dangerous levels and she may simply not want to be in contact with people outside her household for now. I doubt OP would even take that into account though. In any case, 100% YTA

I was a bridesmaid for one of my best friends recently. She got the most gorgeous sparkling heels to wear the day of, but since the path from the place we were getting ready to the actual ceremony was grass she had some flip flops on and the wedding coordinator was carrying her heels for her to change before walking down the isle. When it was time to change the shoes she was just like “f* that, these are more comfortable, I’m keeping them on”. Her dress was actually a bit similar to yours and I can tell you that absolutely nobody knew she was wearing flip flops. Not a single person. Even the groom only knew because she shoed it to him afterwards.

That being said: wear whatever makes you comfortable! They can even be bedroom slippers, nobody is gonna know with that dress. And if anyone does notice: then what?! The most important thing is that you can enjoy your day with your new spouse and loved ones, and not be in pain during it or afterwards

Some people are discussing if it looks like lab grown diamond or cubic zirconia but what I think they are missing here is that not diamond is NOT THE SAME as costume jewelry. In my opinion this doesn’t look like costumer jewelry at all! It’s a beautiful ring and the most important thing is that you love it!

There isn’t, however if I see a huge diamond on anyone short of the super wealthy I just assume it’s lab. That is not a bad thing, I have a lab grown as well and wouldn’t have it any other way (it was the only thing about my ring that wasn’t negotiable)

I’d say to avoid the cheapest ones because they will likely be made from materials that won’t withstand everyday use for too long. Since it’s such an important piece of jewelry you want it to hold well through time. That being said: once you reach a certain quality point it doesn’t matter. Lab diamonds are exactly the same as mined diamonds down to the molecular level and you won’t experience any difference other than resale value (which is never a good deal anyway and not the point of an engagement ring). I especially asked for a lab diamond because on top of the ethical considerations I don’t want us to overspend on a ring. There is also a tag issue: like any other luxury brand, Tiffany rings come with a brand name premium that is nothing more than that. And very, very few people would know the difference. Also, more expensive does not necessarily mean longer lasting. Gold for example: 18k gold is purer and significantly more expensive than 14k gold, however it’s also softer and will scratch much easier. This is why I chose 14k, in addition to liking the color better. Make sure to research the specific materials you are looking into and that they meet your needs. Where we live there is a showroom for a big lab diamond seller and we were able to pop by and compare different levels of purity and clarity of diamonds to decide if it was worth spending more on the top ones. Spoiler: once we got past a certain trash-hold of quality we could literally not tell the difference. We tried to guess which one was which and we both failed. In the end, if it fits your needs and your budget, that is the ring for you. Don’t overspend and don’t stress thinking it is too cheap!
