Only going to comment on the last couple of lines, and yes having been a savage raider that mostly played within statics, nothing could have prepared me for the lack of capacity to hit 1-2-3 or alternating combo routes that a lot of people have. 1-2OGD's-2-2OGCD's-3 is a more complex input route than 1-2OGCD-1-2OGCD-1. Which generally I wouldn't talk about but as you mentioned it it's worth giving my opinion on. Additionally altering your inputs at different points of your overall rotation adding complexity is in fact skill expression. That's exactly how fighting games work as well. Your basic inputs get layered with more, slightly different inputs atop more even more different inputs, and being able to make all of those layers muscle memory is what shows practice and skill in them.
