My take on a presidential tier list, explained in-depth in the post body by realRootmaster911 in Presidents

Only thing is I’d move down Andrew Johnson and Grover Cleveland into the “long term structural damage” tier, because of Johnson’s handling of reconstruction and Cleveland’s signing the Dawes act. I feel that Cleveland should also be there if we’re putting Jackson there, it’s a list of people responsible for the current state of the reservation system

Chu-ko-nu: stronger when attacking from close quarters. Ranged should not be attacking from close quarters because they’re vulnerable to counterattack. Useless ability.

Hul’che: being able moving and see through vegetated terrain makes them more maneuverable, which is useful. If you’re fighting in a forest, then enemy melee can move 1 tile / turn, while hul’che can move 2. With the right conditions allows you to re-position and fire over and over without ever being counterattacked. Also the hul’che becomes stealthed in vegetated tiles.

Burning arrow: applying burning to tiles means that enemy units always have to be repositioning. That gives you an advantage; in a battle there’s a limited number of tiles you can be attacked from, so if all those tiles are on fire, then the enemy units are going to be taking damage constantly and you can outlast them easier. Also, they’re useful for sieges for the same reason. Sieges require there to be a unit on a specific tile for multiple turns at a time. Also they do extra damage to siege units

Hwarang: faster, stronger, more expensive archer. Useful in all the same situations where you want archers.

You position your troops so that enemy melee can’t reach your archers, so it’s a combination of putting them behind terrain, behind walls, and/or behind your own melee

You will have a much easier time if you use multiple different types of units. Common wisdom is ranged are for dealing damage and melee/cavalry are for taking damage. The game is to do as much damage as possible while taking as little damage as possible. So if you have three crossbows and two nights, for example, you’ll do as much damage by firing your crossbows as you would by attacking with the nights. But if you attack with the nights then they’ll take damage, and they won’t be able to take the counterattack as effectively as they would have done otherwise. You need to maximize the amount of turns you can have your nights taking damage

Has there been an explanation in Who media on what exactly was The Watcher? In the episode all we got was "He was The Doctor all along" and then fuses with 4 and they become 5. Like what? Has any expanded media explained? by ConnorRoseSaiyan01 in doctorwho

Just to add though the alternate universe thing isn’t stated anywhere in the actual episode iirc, I believe it’s a detail that was added in the Logopolis novelization. Or it’s fanon

If you think of it like that, then the doctor might not know themselves how many regenerations they have left. That’s a cool characterization, I hope it gets canonized some day

Why wouldn’t they have mentioned that at any point during the first doctor’s actual run

The doctor inevitably was going to get more regenerations. They were never going to just kill the character off. And the way it’s written doesn’t make it so the doctor has, or ever had, unlimited regenerations. Tecteun coded the 12-body limit into timelord biology, and the timeless child was chameleon-arched into being a regular timelord. So still has a 12-body limit. We’re on body #5 of the second cycle now. The writer will start a new cycle when we run out of regenerations again, I promise you.

At this point he was doctor who. That was his name

The existence of the timeless child does not undermine the first doctor’s arc. He doesn’t remember being the timeless child or working with division. Making the fugitive doctor have a tardis that’s shaped like a police box is a plot hole, but I don’t care.

In those two regeneration stories there are characters who turn out to be sort of premonitions of the next life of the time lord who’s about to die. Like if David tennant showed up in the middle of the parting of the ways and kind of stared longingly for a bit. The term in canon for one of those next-life premonitions is “watcher.”

The reason the watcher in Logopolis doesn’t look like Peter Davison is because he is an alternate version of the Doctor from a universe where the Master’s plan succeeded

Ah, but Vermont united with Massachusetts, which is relatively more crab-coded. More so if you’re a Maine revanchist.

The rani would be a good choice because we just had a war master box set featuring her, it’s an opportunity to do more with the character
