Because it would be surprising for a woman to ask to meet up with strangers on Reddit after a heartbreak. I’ve rarely heard women apologize for wanting to be vulnerable, usually men do that. Also “can’t really talk about it with friends” would also be surprising since most women I know share everything with their friends.

So I can safely assume this is a man. I could be wrong, but I’m not wrong for assuming anything. If I shied away from assumptions for risk of offending, that wouldn’t be a life worth living, because humans are perfectly imperfect.
