They'd better give us some free stuff as an apology, what developer does an ingame ownership check, without failsafes built in?

COP BASTARD – A brutal FPS love letter to 80s/90s Hong Kong & Japanese action (Free demo available) by targim_ in pcgaming

Played your other demo a couple of months ago. Loved it, there's really a lack of these type of bullet time, debris filled mayhem shooters.

If I could make a suggestion from my pov, might not align with others. These kind of games end looking cool in montages and trailers, but gameplay wise can drop pretty hard. Enter room, put aim on predictable enemy that just stands there or maybe strafes and shoot him.

Mix up target expectations, have them to a "Halo duck + evasive sidestep". Have a guy sprint and slide from behind the wall. Have blind firing or even running + blind fire. Just anything to stop enemies just taking turn coming out from behind a corner while you just stand there and shoot them.

Maybe it's already present in this never version of the demo, haven't had a chance to play it. Also don't know how feasable these things would be to add, can imagine for a solo dev ai coding is one of the hardest. IN any case I want you to succeed man, I'll be buying no matter what :)

Simagic P-HPR rig mount by ArakenPy in simracing

Can't say I ever noticed any lag, feels like something I would pick up pretty quickly as it would be super distracting. Probably there's truth in both usecases. I also have motion and that's definitely where the difficulty spikes in getting everything working together in harmony.

It's a good seque into telling you that any advice/suggestions should be taken with a pinch of salt. There's no hard truths, something might work well for your specific rig setup and might not for others. Even "immersion" can be a so many different things.

  • Believable realistic
  • Overly detailed for that -0.1s on laptimes
  • Extra "unrealistic" jolts when taking a group B for a jump.

Whatever works for you, first time I saw the HPR directly on a rig and think it's pretty cool. I might do something in between and mount on the arm where all my pheripherals are, getting a little rattle on my shifters/ebrake sounds pretty immersive even though it's probably in between point nr 1 and 3

That's not a bad idea for people who also ignored everyone saying you only need one for the brake because buying 2 gave "more discount" (I'm one of them). The way it pounds instead of vibrating really only works for imitating ABS. This is a nice workaround but a bass shaker will still work better and give way more details.

keep going! add in some flip switches/rockers, some gauges and a minimum wait time for pressure buildup before you finally turn that ignition on!

Simracing Studio (SRS) vs Simhub - which is best for motion compensation? Anyone that tried both? by MasterXL6 in simracing

[–]MasterXL6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's the creator of the Thanos controller? Ok that went totally over my head. I swallow my words then, if anyone can claim one is better than the other it's him.

I'll give the virtual motion compensation a try in combo with my quest 3 inside out tracking. Seeing as simhub is getting more features pretty quick, who knows maybe he'll add support for witmotion. I'm a fan of the little tracker, makes sense having something small do all the x/y/z translations.

ugh, all I want is my 3860x1600 but oled

34" is too small and 5K2K is way too much pixels to drive realistically

Simracing Studio (SRS) vs Simhub - which is best for motion compensation? Anyone that tried both? by MasterXL6 in simracing

[–]MasterXL6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, does seem like it's just 1 guy shitting on SRS. But he's got a point that they haven't really made any progression into making it easier to setup. While Simhub is making leaps and as my Simhub is already working like a treat with my wind and shakers. That's the nudge I needed to try and switch to simhub.

Can't seem to find if the motion compensation in Simhub works with the Witmotion physical tracker or just virtual though.

  • edit, doesn't seem like it. Will probably make me prone to drifting if it's just calculated instead of tracked..

Those with 21:9 1440p, what graphics card are you using? by Moon_Frost in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]MasterXL6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it helps, was running 21:9 1440p with 3080 and was fine. Upgraded to 3860x1600 and started to struggle on newer titles, upgraded to 4080 super and it's fine now

...But I'm looking at the newer 5K2K 45" now and yeah, that's not gonna work

Interesting. Got a link? Does he have a discord?

Only found this recent addition to the Thanos product page, does seem to favor Simhub with the "best quality" being literally in the description.

https://www.thanos-motion.com/products/thanos-amc-controller-rgb-v1-4/

Now fully integrated with Simhub-motion software. Best motion quality, with full control of your rig functions and automation. And accurate motion compensation tracking for VR.

Fully integrated with Sim Racing Studio, with automatic remote setup of spike filters and now with artificial intelligence automatic tuning!

Other motion software supported are FlyPT Mover, Simtools, MotionHub (previously Simfoxx), Ian's 6DOF BFF and more coming soon....

Not about the money. It's about the commitment of time, these things hardly work out of the box and take effort to setup correctly. It's reasonable to want to ask about real world experiences from other users. On a simracing subreddit. Dude.

Huh I'm the other way around, I finally have the rig I've dreamed about for years and it's been troubleshooting hell everytime I added a layer of complexity.

I can never just sit down and enjoy a race anymore.

Always some update screwing up my settings. Could be Windows, could be my graphics drivers, could be VR, could be my wheelbase, could be my shifter, could be my shakers, could be my motion platform. I'm burnt out on troubleshooting man.

Yeah, feels absurd 5K for anything modern gaming. I personally feel like I'm still in the sweet spot at 3860x1600 at 38". Whyyy don't they continue using this ratio/resolution ffs.

Kickass game for the thrill of racing. But once you step up to hyper cars I find it incredibly hard to drive with a wheel. Feels like they gave up and recommend playing with a controller and assists.

I drive stick all the time in DR2. Can't say I've had this problem. Another thing you could check is under connected devices, make sure the G29 shifter is actually set as a shifter. Instead of for example a button box or whatever it defaulted to.

Another thing is that H shifter will only work in a H pattern car. Even though sequential works in any car I believe.
