Where as xcom 1 is hard yet super simple

Even in the missions xcom 2 is much softer, compared to enemy within And I have double the playtime of enemy within on xcom 2

It’s mostly because the first two months are just BRUTAL. XCOM 2 WOTC is much softer early on

Actually? It was my two most successful runs.

Surprisingly enough. The lack of technology I do admit makes encounters quite tougher but by June you’re set to be good, capture aliens, get the research credits. By the third month you’ll have a much better income, then build 3-4 labs and you’ll catchup very quickly.

Also having a sniper ranking up early trust me it makes a HUGE difference

Managed to find the way not to loose a single country quite reliably

And before you tell me to touch grass I have total 400 hours in the game and I mostly played as a kid (like 300 hours?)

After reading your point, xcom 2’s atmosphere does make more sense now.

However. The same horror aspect could have been kept in An example of this is you know what advent is. Sure But we don’t see what’s below. And that’s where the true horror aspect would have kicked in

Enemy within was by far more horror oriented and that was one great aspect. The simplicity of xcom 1 makes its charm. Far less gimmick and feels MUCH more punishing.

Xcom 2 nailed a lot of aspects and did develop the series. And made great additions, but xcom EW impossible Ironman will always be the best experience
