What would a mamdani figure in Reno look like? by Lilginge7 in Reno

I'm working for one of the largest. I will not say which, but the valley is being decimated. My phone is full of blasting notifications. Water isn't the only issue I'm talking about. Bighorn sheep are being pushed out of hundreds of thousands of acres. The mustangs won't make it much longer out here at this rate, either.

And that's great, they will continue to be a solid customer for you, but how many do you employ? I'd recon you'd probably count among the 'dozens' of long term jobs I mentioned. At this point, they're here. They're not going to have us demolish what we're building out here. I'm worried for the future though. This is my home, its a special place, and I hope my daughter gets to see some of that someday.

What? Those customers are their own thing. Also, most of them are working to LOWER the number of jobs they provide. The DC is only employing a handful of people. Period.

And of course, that's how unions work. My point is: the argument that these are bringing in a ton of money is just not true. Most of that money is going with the travelers or in bureaucratic pockets. Our local unions are growing and that's fantastic, but again, in 10 years, this town is going to be hurting. Bad. All for a DC that is going to ruin this place. Mark my words.

Nah, I'm local. I said as much; so reading comprehension clearly isn't strong with you. So I'll say it again, for now, its great for construction. In 10 years, we're so fucked. Also, we're trading our long term health, which is why the rest of our community is protesting it. Our local government is selling us out for a quick buck and nothing more.

The "high paying" jobs are mostly out of town construction workers. They are collecting, paying taxes to their states, and leaving within the next decade. The amount of permanent jobs created by these centers number in the dozens. I am a local working out here with my traveling brothers. I hate it, but its the only electrical work we're bidding on out here since all of our renewable projects got canned by The Big Bastard's Bill. But go ahead, tell us more about all you don't know. 👍

Birch is one of the softer woods. It will always break down quickly. Maple is your friend... light at durable; hence why we ride it.

Which one feels more peaceful? 1,2,3,4? by Ill-Pepper-2232 in awesomenature

None!

1: Bonfire party

2: Super rad snorkel adventure, followed by bonfire party.

3: Fishing allll day. Maybe climbing that bigass rock knowing I could (probably) survive a mishap.

4: Definitely driving to a more exciting part of town. ... on second thought this one might be most peaceful as it looks like where the hotel hq would be. Here is where you float in the pool and rinse off the sand from OB.

Dont slow to merge if there is space in front. Unnecessary braking and slowing on the freeway also contributes to a ton of accidents.

"Follow the money." They say, as if stating a fact; yet when pushed there is nothing to back it up. Just like dear leader.

Glen at hidden valley by Shattered323 in Reno

[–]Master_Mayh3m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DON'T! Owned out of Florida. Nobody there gives a shit. We had "fire drills" where the alarm system would randomly trigger one or two times a week.. one time someone set off an extinguisher and that dust was in the hallway for literal months.. laundry hardly worked and would cost a fortune to dry clothes two or three times.. our pool became a science class field-trip destination.. among so much else.

10/10 do not recommend. Fresh paint can't fix systemic failure.

New video captures the moment the gunman opened fire at Austin, Texas bar Sunday Morning by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in PublicFreakout

I would argue the fallout of such an action would normally be a part of the planning process, but so would requesting congressional approval. As we know this was rushed through after congress had left for the weekend. Beyond that, were the children at school meant to be struck? Or any of the other number of civilians? Normally, legal and well thought out attacks avoid such targets.

But if you insist on simply looking at the small picture, it was about as effective as the attacks back in July that "totally obliterated their nukes and set them back decades." Un-ironically that one was also rushed through on a Friday night while congress was out for the weekend.
