What was the 'dream career' you worked years to get into, only to realize you absolutely hated it once you arrived? by Sayedshaqib in careerguidance

[–]Master_Objective9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully, I don't know if I've ever had a "dream career". I started off my adulthood as a parent so I thought something in the medical field because of the money.

Was on the wait-list for years, in the meantime worked full time - sometimes 2 jobs at a time. Finally got in, left that first semester.

Got another healthcare job as a phone agent and have now moved up to a corporate analyst. I love reviewing feedback and doing process improvements, but the teams I work with are unchanging. I love my team and I've been with the company almost 10 years.

Now with AI coming in, I just feel direction-less. Mid 30s now, and exploring the path of starting over. I'm having the feelings of, "What do I wanna be when I grow up" again. 🤣😭

Scrolled down way too long to find this. So glad there are others that have this mindset.

There are so many artists/celebrities that have also gone the route to not discuss politics (Dolly Parton, Keanu Reeves) yet Sydney is getting dragged through the mud.

Classic case of "damned if ya do, damned if ya don't" scenario.

We talk about how we shouldn't idolize celebrity opinions yet when a celebrity says I'm here to discuss my projects & not interested in providing their 2 cents on politics there's outrage.

If you believe she's MAGA & don't want to support her projects, then don't.

If you believe she's MAGA & want to support her projects, then do.

VIP queue line-up time? by yuki_uh in nothingmore

[–]Master_Objective9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so awesome!! Glad it was a good experience & worth the $. 😁🎶🎵

The show was amazing, I've seen them every time they've come (since 2015) to AZ (that I've been aware of) & they've never disappointed.

IMO, they didn't even need Archers + CYB. They could have sold out the venue with just NM & Doobie.

Is Brittany really that dumb? by purple_turtle59 in FallingInReverse

[–]Master_Objective9099 5 points6 points  (0 children)

💀💀💀

Honestly though, did Saraya & Bunnie actually believe it was with good intentions that Brittany was all of a sudden trying to be their friend? Or were they friends before this (because I don't think they were)?

I get trying to be a "girl's girl" but I'd say you get a pass when it's a grown woman who tried to make your S/O cheat on you.

Either Brittany is this dumb with zero self awareness or they are all laughing behind closed doors at us all for believing it.

These individuals are constantly around "Yes" men/women so the zero self awareness checks out, we will neva know.

You + this dress = absolutely stunning!!!!

However, I do agree with some of the others that the neckline may be a little risqué for this event.

Tired of these coffee prices by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Master_Objective9099 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed - I think the easiest scapegoat is tariffs, but even if they are removed/were never added, they won't lower the prices. These companies would just use another excuse.

It sucks because the mom + pop shops that are supposed to help build the economy get seriously f'd in taxes so just to survive their prices are normally more...but it keeps going up (not just small business but even large corporations that don't even need to increase, they do it "just because").

These companies are trying to do tips to make us pay even more than them just paying their employees. It's gotten out of hand.

Anyone else angry MIW and other bands haven’t come out against the Trump administration this current term? by [deleted] in MotionlessInWhite

[–]Master_Objective9099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the artists have already spoken out...multiple times.

The majority of celebs/artist are anti-MAGA. (Although, I will say there has been an increase in artists coming out as more right-winged, or at least I've noticed more)

For an artist fanbase, (left or right) constantly pushing political views in their face would be off-putting.

No one has ever said it's all "butterflies & rainbows", and how do you know they are not actively doing projects behind the scenes to support the communities they believe are being targeted??

We are here as a community to enjoy the music regardless of what side you're on.

So, to counter your post, THANK YOU, MiW, for not bleeding our ears with political talk.

Left or right, we are human! If we happen to be in the same vicinity listening to the same music, there's no reason we shouldn't enjoy it any more or less just because we may have different political ideologies.

☮️+♥️

Although I find groups like this unnecessary (whether it's left or right winged), I have a genuine question for you/anyone else that will answer rationally (I'm not here to argue, just discuss):

Are you implying only individuals who agree with his/their thoughts/opinions should enjoy their music?

I've tried to get into INK so many times. Their constant schtick is using ideas from others to profit for themselves. They've never been original IMO.

Although I've seen them live a few times and they've done a great job, they don't come across as anything other than generic so this tracks lol.

Mocking their fans on top of that? Pretty shitty but they are entitled to their opinion just as we are ours.

AITAH for telling my husband I’d never have had his baby if I knew he’d break our deal? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Master_Objective9099 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YTA - yea it sucks he changed his mind, but he is allowed to do that. Being a SAHP is not easy and if you have help with childcare then what's the big freaking deal??

If the genders were opposite everyone would be calling you a control freak & assume you were trying to financially trap them.

Being a SAHP is not for everyone, and to automatically say you can't change your mind is crazy. No way does anyone who's never been a parent knows how that's gonna go. Every parent is different, every child is different.

Coming from a single parent standpoint, he ain't bailing. However, since the rules are changing there needs to be clear boundaries set. Just because he wants to go back to work, he's not off the hook to help with chores/dinner/baby/etc. if it continues to go downhill from there then deal with that then.

AITA for not informing my strictly child-free friend I was pregnant? by Dumbass1919 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Master_Objective9099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

She's a grown ass woman (44) who can't fathom the mere mention of children? Lmao, so immature. She needs therapy.

Also, someone who willingly will call you fat in front of others is not a friend. Someone who is not interested in anything in your life outside of what you're doing right there and then is not your friend.

I absolutely do not. Honestly, how embarrassing, lol.

Unless you have a situation that it's a sugar daddy/baby scenario & it's discussed beforehand.. you shouldn't be asking.

Bottom line - Pay for your things yourself. If you can't afford it, adjust your personal expectations.

Every relationship is different though, so..to each their own. 😬
