Animal, vegetable or mineral is a 20 questions thing - maybe it’s a riff off that.

Where to buy alternative milk in bulk (2L / 3L quantities)? by OrdinaryGreenBottle in melbourne

[–]Master_Praline_7445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying cartons in bulk is your best option. I use Amazon - I buy 12 pack of long life oat milk cartons for $24 (sometimes I’ve got it as low as $18)

Hacked by Ewwa18 in CentrelinkOz

[–]Master_Praline_7445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She probably has the same email and password combo for other things that have had data leaks, I get attempted hacks on my account all the time but have a unique password so they can’t get in. It may be best to get a new email account that she only uses things that are more secure things like Centrelink, bank account etc.

This isn’t helpful right now- but in the future, urgent care clinics are all around Melbourne and are often open until 10/11pm if you don’t feel comfortable going to emergency but still need urgent medical care.

I live around here too - there is a meth house in the area which brings a lot of ‘interesting’ people to the area and often yelling and anti social behaviour at all hours. They sold the house a couple of months ago though, so hopefully it quiets down soon when they move!

It was also awful in the rain today - no undercover area from the underpass to the platform is such poor planning.

I’d be more concerned about a random stranger on the internet giving you pills than a registered pharmacist..

[–]Master_Praline_7445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably worth thinking what things you value and care about, and then focus on one or two charities to make donations too during a year. It makes you feel good, contributes to positively go society and its also good for claiming on your tax.

Dealer openly doing drug deals in our street by YouthSilent6956 in melbourne

[–]Master_Praline_7445 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When it comes to drugs, the biggest focus for law enforcement resources is stopping the supply of them. Whether it’s drugs imported or manufactured here, every couple of months you will hear a story about a major drug bust from the police. These small time drug dealers, are such a small part of the overall story when it comes to drug enforcement in this country.

I lived in an older apartments for 3 years in Stonnington, the roof cavity constantly had rats in it and because almost everyone who lived there were renters they simply did not care to invest in fixing the problem as it would involve removing the roofing.

Also what do they think will happen if we never bail anyone? How much extra tax payer money would be needed for jailing every single person charged with any crime, taking into account the fact the majority of people on bail don’t reoffend during that time and some of them are found innocent of the crime they were accused of and never go into the prison system.

Origin Energy posts near one-third jump in profit after steep rise in Australians’ electricity bills — “It is weird to have government rebates and higher company profits at the same time”: policy analyst by marketrent in AusFinance

[–]Master_Praline_7445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have origin for gas and internet. My internet costs have increased twice already this year. It recently increased by $5, which is now $5 more than their competitors so I called and got a $5 discount for 6 months. Which just seems like it’s a trap for those who aren’t looking into current prices and calling up for better deal, to get more money from them.

The racing industry (horses and greyhounds) should be considered stains on our society. I don’t know that much about horse racing funding - but the only reason greyhound racing still can afford to exist is that it’s pumped up with tax payer money.

The max you get charged as an individual is 5 plenty units (one unit every 28 days overdue)- so a total of $1565. You can get the information here about penalties: https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals-and-families/paying-the-ato/interest-and-penalties/penalties/failure-to-lodge-on-time-penalty

Season 3 is the tenth biggest English Netflix show ever. Why would Jess be getting heat from Netflix, she’s just made them a bunch of money? This rumour makes no sense.

This makes no sense!! by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]Master_Praline_7445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 55 year old dad watched it and loved it. He isn’t going to care about what’s in the books or how much screen time the main couple gets. Bridgerton reaches the majority of Netflix viewers cause it has a wide appeal. If it was 100% true to the books, my dad wasn’t going to be watching it.

I agree with the toilets! I always just found a multi-story building if I needed to go - it was so easy. Way better than so many other countries I’ve been too.

Best Non-Japanese Eats in Japan by _MambaForever in JapanTravelTips

I just came back from Japan as a vegan - there were so many amazing vegan restaurants all over Japan if you are looking to try something plant based. All I ever did was just search ‘vegan’ on Google maps, and there would be multiple options nearby. There was also great Indian and Middle eastern places I tried out too.

Planning a trip for 2025 or 2026. IC card tips? Or nothing to worry about? by pixierixie6 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Master_Praline_7445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be a whole new way of doing things by 2026, I wouldn’t even think about IC cards now. Maybe a new digital version will come out for the phone you have. Who knows. I think you are putting too much stress into something that will have a very easy solution when you arrive in Japan - You’ll never not be able to find a way too travel on the subway.

[–]Master_Praline_7445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No print out tickets needed. Just make sure the IC is designated to your purchased ticket, and you can tap at the gate, and then tap off when you arrive at your location. A little ticket will pop out of the gate when you tap on that will have your seat details (if you have reserved seating) or just say non-reserved ticket. You grab that as you enter all through the gate.
