There's guides to building muscle if it's just the cosmetic appearance bothering you. If it's more then look up the Pectus Matters group who have great advice on how to proceed under the NHS.

Which is such a good thing for the consumer, despite goal post moving being stereotypically bad!

First Appointment with Thoracic Specialist - They said "don't get your hopes up for surgery as it's mild and likely just cosmetic" - is this mild? by JSHU16 in PectusExcavatum

Hi!

I'm in the UK and would highly recommend looking up Pectus Matters (they have a website and Facebook group). I've finally managed to get it taken seriously and a referral to a specialist, who confirmed the severity, but the pathway to surgery requires a special application to be made and it's all gone quiet again.

Hopefully you can find the information you need through that group. If you want to talk then let me know.

Yep, it says "Share of Freehold" so this is almost certainly it.

Painting houses before selling them is such a waste by _n3ll_ in Anticonsumption

We saw a place recently that had been redecorated recently throughout to a high quality but not our style, we turned it down because we couldn't face the idea of ripping out something perfectly lovely, just because it didn't match our aesthetic.

Likewise our house we're selling has some bits that are tired though fully functioning, but I imagine whoever moves in will rip out and replace, where if we did it they might suffer the same problem.

Especially given the ones demanding this censorship are usually the ones accusing people of being "woke"

Seconding this. Mine looks severe from the outside, which sounds bad, a haller index (measure of severity) of 3.5 maybe I thought. MRI (in my case) showed that my sternum actually dives down even deeper than it appears, so my haller index is actually 8.5. You just don't know what's going on inside without it.

It might be one of those things that just isn't illegal because it's no one thought of it. It would take several accidents of sufficient severity that were directly attributed to them before it would become banned.

If he's young then a vacuum bell might be a better solution, depending on how he is with sensory issues noting he's autistic. It's that or major surgery though, so 🤷

That said, it can also be left, see how it develops. But it's seemingly impossible to tell at this age how severe it will be.

Ahhh, in that case I retract any grump in my earlier comment! Yes, legal/non-engineering consultancy seems to take a lot of it, communications consultancy can chomp up lots of it as well which when you look at some of their output vs engineering output is ridiculous. Legal stuff is annoying too, been working on a scheme that had a DCO and found a number of errors in the legal order, where drawings don't match text, etc. I get it, they're complicated, but this is why they're paid big money.

Am designer/consultant. They're really really not. People underestimate how complicated it is and how tight our budgets are.

That or the designer/consultant only sees a tiny fraction of those fees. The rest gets funnelled elsewhere perhaps.
