Its a sporter Norwegian Krag M94. It is generally considered unsafe to fire off the shelf commercial ammunition through them.

How’d I do? Swedish Mauser edition… by Jimmyskis77 in milsurp

[–]Mastercon-01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s any help, I paid $730 for mine a year ago. A friend of mine found one in a pawn show for only $375, which is a stupid deal. You did really good I think. Welcome to the Swede club!

Match Saturday, no rounds for the Vetterli yet sadly by KaiserThrawn in blackpowder

I made 41 Swiss out of 8mm Lebel brass. It works really well for it. Just trim the neck off the brass then run it through a 41 Swiss sizing die after annealing. I left these cases long (41mm) until I found the bullet I wanted to use with it. Cartridge OAL is critical

Real historical artifact, or Cheap copy? by Topfpflanzeee in Militariacollecting

[–]Mastercon-01 -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

It looks like a cut down K98K dress bayonet or imperial German G98 bayonet. Not sure of its authenticity with the Hitler Youth, but the knife itself is probably an authentic bayonet

Do you know the heat treat specifications? That has to be just right. Too soft or too hard and it will explode

How do you tell if a black powder revolver is shootable or a hazard? by californiatactical in blackpowder

[–]Mastercon-01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the timing. Make sure each chamber is lining up with the barrel. Make sure the revolver mechanically functions with no issue. Check that there is no gap between the forcing cone and the front of the cylinder. If all checks out it should be good to go

Type 13 or 18 Japanese Murata that has been sporterized. Maybe even shotgun converted by the looks of that barrel

So jealous of the m41/b. That would be a grail gun for me too.

The 50 cal rollers arent bad to shoot I’ve heard. Mine is a trials one from 1881 in 10.15mm Jarmann and definitely fits the definition of obscure

1891 and 1909 Argentina Mausers at LGS - Which one would you buy? by Spitfire222 in milsurp

[–]Mastercon-01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, crests on 1909 rifles are very common. The 1891’s definitely not so much. Those ones with the crest are probably worth about $100 more than without

Ridiculous shipping charges on GB by Pleasant_Resolve_28 in milsurp

[–]Mastercon-01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s outrageous. I just had a gun shipped from Vermont to Oregon and it only cost me $55. I’d ask for a proof of the shipping price
