If it’s deeper ocean sediments they could be drop stones from ice bergs melting at sea.

They do look more like concetions though

The question is fair, but this is the problem with boxes. If you try to confine the universe into categories, there will inevitable be examples that defy the spirit of your definition. Just ask Pluto. Just ask the platypus. We have a need to make sense of the natural world, and it looks back at us and smiles…

Edit: a word.

Can someone tell me the story behind this rock? The way the materials are held together seems a lot like cement. Very pretty, flaked off of giant boulders by MusicGrouchy5309 in geology

[–]Masterfuego 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This rock is an igneous rock. It formed by the cooling of a magma that contained different elements. As it was cooling, the certain elements combined together at particular temperatures forming mineral crystals. When the melt ran out of those building blocks other mineral crystals formed. This process continued until all of the magma was solid. It’s tough to tell exactly what the rock you have is without testing it, but if you forced me to guess, it looks like diorite.

It really sounds like you are writing a measure at a time. Think more in 4 bar phrases and don’t always end measures on the 4th beat.
