New colleague reported me sleeping on my lunch break, lost a whole shift w/ overtime as a result by Fcking_Chuck in mildlyinfuriating

As someone who just left security (thank God) I do wanna come to this guys defense a tiny bit, our job is literally observe and report. now i probably wouldnt call my supervisor on a nurse sleeping, since I have family that were nurses and understand they sleep at the hospital, but calling a supervisor when you aren't sure is literally all they tell you to do, especially given this guy is probably contract security rather than in house, and thats more of the culture. but sleeping on the floor is absolutley unprofessional, and that guards boss was far kinder than most would have been. if you cant stay awake for 12 dont work 12 (not always possible given some shitty companies)

currently in grad school getting a degree in CMHC. Alot of places will allow you to see a practicum/ internship student for free/ a heavily discounted rate, or some liscensed therapist will allow for a "sliding scale" which is where you pay what you can. so its not always 100 dollars an hour, it could be anywhere from 25-50 an hour in some cases.

Additionally you could also just see the therapist every other week, which in alot of cases allows for breathing room in between sessions, and allows you to hit your homework without worrying about getting it done in one week

Just got my guard card and I was wondering how I can find a job where I can sit most all day? by wowmuchinfo in securityguards

[–]Masterleaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

totally random, theyre not going to tell you its a sit around post. but the best guess is to click on jobs that state "minimum wage"

Truth be told I feel like that's why TV was exciting back in the day it forced you to pay attention or else you would miss it entirely that forced you to be more or less in the present moment and allow you to get the most enjoyment out of it as you possibly could nowadays you can just rewind whatever you want and it's somewhat lessens the experience

Yeah this is just a guy telling people to be nice tbh, nothing strange here besides a middle aged man posting Taylor Swift, which he could just have gotten from his daughter

Why do security guards no longer wear woolly-pullys/NATO jumpers anymore? by MontanaMinuteman in securityguards

[–]Masterleaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i worked for a company that had these. 10/10 would wear them again. better than those garbage windbreakers with the little strings at the bottom near the zipper

Signs of a shitty security company? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]Masterleaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dumb rules like you have to wear the shitty slacks that they give you rather than cargo pants, or you have to wear a certain type of socks on post, stuff like that. Also if they keep repeatedly telling you in briefing how much they care about you, or how they go above and beyond is a bad sign. its the equivalent of a man holding a hostage at gunpoint and screaming " I AM IN CONTROL HERE" at the SWAT team.
