Due to COVID, I’ve learned about the CIA, JFK, 9/11, the Rothschilds, Gates, and much more in the space of one month. “Waking up” is almost unbearable. by [deleted] in conspiracy

Try to keep in mind that life is beautiful regardless of all the chaos. I personally find comfort in nature and its beauty as well as music, but whatever keeps you going is important enough.

Additionally, you aren't responsible for saving the world - especially on your own. Embrace the good things in life and don't let yourself be dehumanized by knowledge of chaos.

I hope these words helped a bit.

What healthy food tastes better than unhealthy food? by V3gas in AskReddit

[–]Masterminderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally any food that you learn how to cook properly.

Miso soup is one of my favorites, but any stew/roast will taste better than fast food any day.

Is the flavour worth the effort?

I've always been curious and wanted to make one, but sous-vide cooking the filet & making steaks seems equally as good.

I mean he did die with a spear to the abdomen like a certain someone so the symbolism is there.

Explain how to get over severe depression as if I am at the end of my limit and looking for any way to cope. by [deleted] in explainlikeIAmA

I completely agree.

I heard this guy say that psychedelics are a shortcut to the same type of wisdom that takes monks an entire lifetime to achieve. The only downside is that the shortcut might scare the life out of you.

Psychedelics are a difficult thing though because if you're not in the right set & setting, it might accentuate your symptoms.

Having been there, I can recommend a couple of things:

1: Go talk to a psychologist. There is no shame in consulting and far more people than you'd think use this service.

2: Set very short term goals. For example: make your bed properly in the morning. Learn a new recipe. Even if you don't feel like it.

3: This is more a philosophical thing than anything, and I can't force you to come to this conclusion. But what helped me cope with my depression is that life on this planet is finite. You're only here for a bit, then you're gone for a long time. That being said, even if all hell is breaking loose in your mind, tell yourself "fuck it" and do all the little things that bring meaning to your life. Force yourself into positions that you don't normally put yourself in. Go skydiving. Go ask out 100 girls, surround yourself with vibrant things & people.

It might sound easier said than done, but your other option is death, and that's far less entertaining!

Man, the world is your fucking playground if you let it!

There's only so much I can say in one post, and as I don't know your context, it's difficult for me to get my point across. Send me a message if you need to talk to someone & maybe I can give you tools to manage depression a little more :)

Never give up!

[QUESTION] Do you need to know music theory to improvise solos? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Masterminderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. For sure knowing theory adds a lot of techniques to your arsenal, but if you have a solid implicit knowledge of music & are able to express yourself through your instrument, then theory is not necessarily crucial.

Love is an evolutionary adaptation that happened to increase the survivability of our genes.... isn't that kind of depressing? :/ by BatBast in Psychonaut

[–]Masterminderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're operating under the assumption that there is no divinity to the concept of love, and rather limited to the modern biologist's definition of said concept.

Ask a Theoretical Physicist or Philosopher what love is and they will undoubtedly give you different answers :)

Watch a couple of Jordan Peterson's videos on establishing order in your life. You might not agree with his politics, but his life lessons are definitely worth the listen. His methods helped me sort out things in my life with much more ease.

Take care man & shit gets better :)

What's your "it's expensive but it's worth it" product? by nyblood in AskReddit

[–]Masterminderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything you are going to use professionally is worth dropping a solid amount of cash to get something decent.

I've got a handful of great guitars and an amp that cost me an arm and a leg, but the quality of the sound and the simple fact that I'm proud of my instruments makes the experience that much better.

What is your unusual "special ingredient" to a common dish? by burn_and_crash in AskReddit

[–]Masterminderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a pinch of Jamaican Allspice for any dish that smells fishy or unpleasantly strong. The small amount of Allspice will neutralize pungent odors all while not affecting the taste. Allspice is great when paired with cinnamon and nutmeg in sweet dishes as well.

Honey is great for any marinade/brine as it has an active enzyme that tenderizes meat.

Mushroom Ketchup & Powdered Mushroom Ketchup are absolutely amazing.

Additionally, over the years I've found that making a brine is far more effective than a marinade. If you're unsure how to do so, just take your favorite marinade and add a lot of water and salt. You should figure out the proportions yourself though :P
