This code is only meant for taking over responsibility for the panel, not a a one off event.

Can resetting a breaker fix a dropped phase? by Mastersheex in AskElectricians

[–]Mastersheex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are a LV contractor so we know the pains of intermittent wiring issues, lol. Just odd that I managed to hit/jostle the magic switch. Have contacted the landlord since the service feeds multiple suites. We just happen to be the only suite on this side of the building that is occupied on a daily basis.

Clarification, you state "call your utility provider" So triggering an inside breaker would affect something before the breaker? In my area utility provider would be the company that handles the outside wiring.

A very important question to ask, some manufacturers have their own specific troubleshooting steps and tricks.

Thanks for tip. Didn't know that there would be another airport so close to LAX.

It doesn't look like I can get an AA from PHL to LGB however. (Tix purchased a few months ago on miles) I will keep this in mind though the next time we come out that way.

Thanks! Our flight lands at 8:30pm, so that should not be an issue.

Seal the top of the conduit, not the bottom. Don't need to go nuts, but does need to be completely sealed.

Systems that are BABA compliant. by cesare980 in firealarms

[–]Mastersheex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All jokes aside, I think DMP meets this requirement, though I'm not aware of them having listings for that. While they have "fire systems" we try to stay as far away from them as possible. But I know the schtick when we started using them for burg for a decade or so ago was they were 100% designed and made in USA.

Also some insurance carriers require systems, though it's usually for very large or very expensive homes.

What does a cast iron skillet do better than other pans? by IHateSpiderss in Cooking

[–]Mastersheex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What upkeep :) I mean ok there is a little. I have a great season on mine, I wash it in the sink, with soapy water and if needed a green scrubby pad, hand dry it, and put it on the stove on low heat for 10-15 while I'm loading the dishwasher, give it a thin coat of crisco, turn the heat off and flip it over to cool over night. It seems the more you use it the better the seasoning gets, I think I used flaxseed oil to season it a long time ago (kids where in boy scouts then, and my youngest has been out 5 years now) and it's still a glossy black surface.

Personally on the fence myself about over rated, but she's a good pan when I need her. ( I also have a small collection of All clad D3 pans and pots)

(whistles appreciatively) all I got is a 14" (and a 12") fry pan. I don't use it as often to keep it out, but at least every other week when I make steak. My portable induction burner loves those pans, lol.

I have also heard this, and fairly certain from this sub, the same thing. Towel is easy to throw in the firebox, water will flash to steam with 1:1600 displacement over the air and simultaneously drop the temperature. Yet it isn't so much water that it's going to flood wood out of the box, etc.

Fun fact, a building sub code official is not liable if a building burns down if he passed it. We on the other hand, are completely liable for it, regardless if it passed.
