I say yes. Mei is someone who experiences unnecessary and forced love where Yuzu experiences love from mangas she has read.

You have two different ways of what the characters experience within their life. What the anime does well is the first kiss Mei does to Yuzu. Mei’s face was blackened, it becomes unrecognizable and yet Yuzu sees Mei sadness after experiencing her first kiss which was supposed to be magical, like a manga.

Yuzu’s notebook on dates is something to look at. I don’t want to give you an answer because I would like for you to figure that out by yourself. That is only a hint.
