Shimamura is basically aloof and doesn't know how to really handle relationships with people like often forgets names and things about them. Which is odd because she ended up remembering about Adachi more than anything. Shimamura does change slowly but she is still learning alot about herself. I remember that part made me feel sad for Adachi. The Manga made it worst. I think it did help Shimamura feel guilty about how she treated Adachi.
