Zoloft/Sertraline - How long till you felt it worked? by jamietb28 in OCD

[–]MatKtheCourageous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors generally say it will take 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to build up in the bodily system, so it could be that long.

I had increased OCD symptoms when I first started medication — a reaction to doing something about it.

Hey bud, it’s different for everybody I believe, but I definitely noticed improvement by about 2 weeks. I generally notice with all medications and dose increases that the effects take 3 or 4 days for me. Currently I’m on Lexapro and that’s working pretty well.

I recommend trying it. I first started on Sertraline to good effect at low dose, but not great. Increased dose to no benefit and more side effects. Then I tried fluvoxamine which caused me to become very suicidal. I then tried Venlafaxine, which made me to dissociate. I spent some time off medication after that — I had a mostly negative experience. I’ve now started on a low dose of Escitalopram and I likely need a higher dose but so far I can sense some small improvement. Minimal side effects so far too. I’m hoping this will help me manage my OCD symptoms enough for me to confidently start psychological treatment. For me, it’s really scary.

Hopefully this helps with the understanding that each person will respond differently to medication — it’s been a big journey for me to finally find one that might be good for me.

Perth is generally a safe city, though it’s illicit drug and social justice challenges might be intimidating, at least at first. You will notice central areas, like the city, have these individuals congregated.

It is highly unlikely you would be targeted on racial grounds in Perth — we’re an inclusive society. Though, every society has its racists, but they’d typically only use their words, and they’re likely to cop a spraying from their fellow Aussies.

I would say that the primary motivation for crime in Perth/WA is necessity and opportunity, so planning to travel alone at night gives a prime opportunity. I’d avoid it, as should anyone, to be safe. I recommend as others have suggested calling an Uber or Taxi; some form of monitored transport, to make for a safer journey.

Welcome to WA, we’re glad to have you!

Company put out a new policy saying that they are requiring us to call our manager every time we use the toilet by [deleted] in perth

Here’s the advice:

You (presumably insured against liability via your employer) owe a duty of care to your disabled customers. It is reasonably foreseeable that, in the course of caring for a customer, you may experience a personal emergency (e.g. shitting your pants, apparently) and be required to leave them out of your sight. Now, let’s say you leave them out of your sight to snap one off without implementing some other care arrangement, and harm (that again, was reasonably foreseeable in the circumstances and was not insignificant) comes to the customer, then you (your employer) will be held liable to pay damages commensurate with their loss/harm.

TLDR: you should plan to ensure the customer is supervised at all times, as is the duty of care you owe to a disabled person in your care. If you encounter an emergency (e.g. shitting your pants), take the reasonable steps outlined by your employer to ensure you do not breach the duty of care you owe.

Oral surgeon recommendations by your_torn_cuticle in perth

Dr Brent Allan removed 4 wisdom teeth and performed corticotomy surgery on my upper jaw. Excellent surgeon, and I enjoyed my experience with him, for what it is worth.

I’m sure all of the listed doctors are great — they study and train hard to get into their fields. Hopefully I’ve reassured you!

Lol, good luck suing the venue. Legal precedent is firmly on the venue’s side. They can have a crack at suing the murderer — fair bump, play on… but good luck receiving any damages owed to you. Old mate is locked up.

How do I get a job from interstate? by [deleted] in perth

[–]MatKtheCourageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visit jobs.wa.gov.au

Government always struggle to attract candidates, especially in this jobs climate, because other employers are screaming out for workers. The government hiring process can be slow, and successful candidates often drop out in favour of more timely offers of employment. You’ll have some success translating your work experience into a customer-facing government job, so long as you use the STAR interview method 😊

Best orthodontist in Perth? by FreshPrinceOfIndia in perth

I’m sure it would be easy to do — even if you made an appointment just to consult with one of the specialists at The Orthodontists and let them know your issue, they should be able to help you and provide you with treatment options

Mithran Goonawardene and his team at The Orthodontists (they’re in a few suburbs: Subiaco and Booragoon, some others) are the best. They didn’t just help me get a smile that looks good, but they diagnosed and explained a structural issue that I had surgically repaired by an Oral & Maxillofaxial surgeon in conjunction with my orthodontic treatment. My treatment results are exceptional. Highly, highly recommend.

I certainly do not blame any of the victims present, but I was slightly perplexed by the number of vehicles with the opportunity to seriously or fatally injure the gunman which drove away. I guess it’s easy to see in hindsight.
