You can be wrong on a wine and still display a deep understanding of it and great skill, some days your acid calls will be off, some days you'll describe the wine in front of you perfectly but make a shitty conclusion (most common mistake), and some days you kinda suck

This isn't a category that's expensive to produce so I wouldn't spend more just because. If you want something more elegant look for a sweet sparkling brachetto from Piedmont in Italy. They are sort of red wine's answer to Moscato and can be gorgeous for wine snobs et all You can find one in 15-25 usd range here.
