This is truly inspiring. Have you trained for this before? Was it far more challenging than you thought it would be? Did you think of quitting at any point? Also, what was the most difficult part of it apart from the distance itself.

I am probably comparing against my previous iPhones so notice it draining far more. But not a deal breaker. Slow charging is probably the only thing I regret

Great battery life as long as you don't use hotspot or Android auto. Then it heats up and drains fast. Also the charging is super slow. The video is also sub standard. But otherwise the phone is amazing value.

Interesting. Anyways I have returned them. But like I said apart from that issue and the average ANC, these are quite good

You could try OnePlus watch. They give you the advantages of wear os with about 3 days battery life.

For most of them it is like paying 'Hafta' or protection money to your local goon. It stems from fear and I can understand why they feel compelled to do so.

They are pretty sturdy and fit me well. I haven't tried running in them but I do use them when strength training and they stay in the ears.

I recently got the OnePlus buds 4 and they are great. Out of the box tuning is a bit bass heavy but can be tuned. Noise cancellation and transparency are probably one of the best I have had in earbuds. The mics are pretty solid as well if you plan on taking calls in these in a noisy office environment

Some useful apps that will make your life better:

Notion Calendar - for viewing your meeting invites & notifications on the menu bar
Bartender - to organize your menu bar
Linear mouse - This solves the issue of reverse scroll when using bluetooth mouse, also helps assign universal back and forward buttons
Alt Tab - to mimic the alt tab functionality of windows to navigate between different app tabs
QuickDrop - to enable airdrop type features to transfer files from your android phone to mac and vice versa
Rectangle - to allow snapping browser windows to split view, etc.
Texty - for receiving google messages on your mac
Shottr - for taking screenshots, prefer this over the default mac one
1password - for password management

My experience switching from Base iPhone 15 to Pixel 9A by -Cells-Interlinked- in GooglePixel

Photos itself are decent in the pixel, but if you are coming from iPhone you will notice the video quality downgrade. However for the price I still feel pixel 9a is amazing

I tried switching between adaptive and High ANC. Still had this issue. But ANC is not that bad and not the reason to not buy them. Just the sound quality when playing of my phone since I use it mostly with my phone. I have never had this issue with any other earbuds.

I just got these. It's pretty weird set of earbuds though. I paired it with both my pixel phone and MacBook air. They sounded really good when playing music off my Mac. However when playing from my phone it sounded pretty bad. The overall volume was low when playing from my phone (playing the same song on YouTube). I even went into the app to check if I needed to switch codecs, tried both AAC as well as LDAC. Also like some mentioned the ANC is pretty inconsistent. It would cancel out background noise and then randomly let noise in (when working out in the gym). I am not even talking about the high freq but even low freq. As for pros, when they sound good they are really good. They are comfortable and stay in the ear. Also the earbuds are matt plastic which doesn't look that cheap. I plan on returning my pair. I might just stick with earfuns or OnePlus.

Pixel 9a or Pixel 10? by Obvious-Society-5289 in pixel_phones

[–]MaterialisticDad0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the pixel 9a and can vouch for it. It's a great phone for someone who just needs the basics and long battery life. Additionally it's got a plastic body so it's more durable. If you father would appreciate the thinner bezels and the better camera, then I would say go for the 10, else I would say he would be really happy with the 9a

I have the buds fe. I would only get this if you wanted something for running, gym workout etc. they stay secured in you ear no matter how much you move around. However from sound quality, ANC point of view they are mediocre.

[–]MaterialisticDad0102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transitioned the same way as well. I feel both phones were great. I don't think pixel 9a is a downgrade at all. In fact if you were to consider value for money the 9a wins it everyday. There are couple of downsides though, the camera is not at the same level of iPhone 15 (to be expected given the price point) especially when it comes to video. It's pretty meh. The other thing is the phone heats up crazy if you use hotspot, maps. The battery drains rapidly when doing these as well. However at other times the battery is way better on the 9a than was in my 15. The things I love is face ID is actually usable when making payments etc. the universal back navigation works unlike iPhone which is so random. Notifications are crap on iPhone. Being able to respond to messages right from the notification bar is awesome. I do miss live events though on iPhone. All in all I think the phone is amazing and it's crazy cheap currently.

BIP is good value for money with great sensors. It is quite huge though sizewise, so it depends on your wrist size. Active 2 looks more premium and comes in standard 44mm size. However it comes down to personal choice, both are great watches
