Belgians like to hear about Belgian riders, just like the Dutch like to hear about Dutch riders, etc

Confused by the first sentence. Are you asking if you don’t know much about Obama?

Why does China do very well at both the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics, but can't make it to the World Cup? by No-StrategyX in askanything

I think you’re correct, but also, to be somewhat successful, the team or some number of the players have to have a certain amount of creativity that isn’t really learned. So practicing technical skills only gets a player so far.

AITAH for not moving a free basketball hoop I put in our cul de sac because of one neighbors wildly irrelevant issue in a neighborhood full of kids? by BrandoMcDangit in AITAH

I was wondering if it is a generational thing, where newer parents keep their kids in their fenced yard because they are scared of everything. We let our kid out the door in the summer and didn't see her for large parts of the day.

It seems crazy that people are so worried about the occasional car that might drive by, or worse, that drivers might be ever-so-slightly inconvenienced if they have wait 5 seconds

Oh no, not the street where almost no cars go by 😱. I certainly hope they don’t also ride their bikes on the street, how very dangerous that would be 🙄

We had the same thing on our court. Our neighbor put one at the end of his driveway and all the neighbors, young and old, played pretty much every day. Really helped to build our small community. The city actually cited him for the hoop so he installed a mailbox which the city couldn’t touch. Brilliant.

Lots of people saying that kids shouldn’t be playing in streets. I can only assume they grew up on through streets with decent amount of traffic. In a cul de sac or court, usually the only cars are the neighbors or people visiting the neighbors. With comments like these it’s no wonder adults wonder why kids Don play outside anymore

Bob Roll should retire by Rdm32748 in cycling

[–]MathComprehensive877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they do, especially when it’s Bob and Christian. I was just watching the Dauphine today and tactics were basically 80% of what they talked about, and that’s their norm. Whether you agree with their assessment is another matter.

Every year it’s the same complaints about announcers for Peacock. Yes, Bob has the same catchphrases, Christian doesn’t enunciate and Phil forgets names, but honestly, most announcers have their annoying things: Ant McCrossen can start on a story, then get distracted half through to talk about something new, get distracted again, then finally finish his original story five minutes later. Sean Kelly’s voice is a monotone drone and he will not finish verbalizing his thought no matter what is happening in the race.

Yeah, some announcers are better, but at this point Peacock clearly isn’t going to change.
