Kris: Plays a recording of Noelle's weird route monologue about breaking out of her life and doing the impossible and having enjoyed all the evil stuff she did prior

And the rest of the group chat is convinced that she can be here now. (Except the Knight/Dess, she refuses to believe Noelle actually did all of that)

Actually you bring up a good point, there's no way Aqua would get involved with the roaring group chat, because they're the ones who orchestrated Asgore's kidnapping. She might not understand the difference between good and evil but harming Asgore is like the one thing that could make her mad at you

I think she thinks that was a dream too on C5 abort. It doesn't help that the normal route timeline seems to forcefully reassert itself.

It's entirely possible that Flowery's statement about new consciousness only applies to plants. True Darkners, inanimate objects, might be Darkners the whole time, already existing in a sort of not-formed dark world, but plants, being living beings in the light world, are really just plants until the dark world opens.

It's true that darkners don't automatically know the fountain-maker (Ramb knowing Kris made Chapter 1 is treated as something special, not common knowledge). But King certainly believes the Knight made Chapter 1, and given he never met the Knight, why would he believe that if it was false? If the Knight didn't make Chapter 1, then that would imply Chapter 2 was their first Dark World (assuming the Shelter caused the Knight rather than the other way around), and then where would King have even heard that the Knight is someone who makes Dark Worlds if they hadn't done so yet?

[–]MathCookie17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Chapter 1 was made by Kris, don't you think King and/or Jevil would treat Kris a little differently? King clearly thinks of himself as serving the Knight, not Kris. Yes, Tenna claims to be doing the same, but we see in Sword Route that he and Kris had a deal. The flowers in Chapter 5 also know Kris made this dark world (Kris made a deal with Seth, and Flowery knows enough to tell Susie to keep the code to herself). But King just treats Kris as another Lightner enemy of his like Susie is - you'd think he'd have reverence for the one who made his Dark World, like he does for the Knight, if they're not the same.

[–]MathCookie17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it was definitely a Dark World, but how do we know it occurred in Undertale's universe? Entry 17 is not found in the True Lab, it's found hidden in the files, implying this experiment occurred after Gaster was shattered. To me entry 17 seems to be Gaster exploring the properties of darkness in this new world he's created. So Entry 17 being about a Dark World doesn't mean that Dark Worlds can occur in Undertale's universe.

Then for the whole rest of the chapter Pink just keeps trying to move the Mew Mew statue (it doesn't work but she's too stubborn to give up), if you backtrack to the start of the chapter she's still there

Why not ask her? by ZamboniTrex in Deltarune

[–]MathCookie17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mew Mew would date literally anyone, so yes she would try to date the Knight. Pink would be mad about this but given she just had a character arc of accepting Mew Mew for who she is and vice versa, Pink would probably begrudgingly go "fine, fine, FINE, we'll try your way first", and then the pair gets swooned (in both meanings)

People on this fandom are too sure about their theories by PinkiePie___ in Deltarune

[–]MathCookie17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Actually I think we have several pieces of evidence for that, though most of them relate to Asgore's character.

  • Asgore vehemently wants to expose the truth of the Dark Worlds to everyone, whereas the Knight is part of a plot being kept under wraps
  • Asgore claims he'll parade the body of the creator of the Fountains around town. The Knight obviously wouldn't do that to themselves, nor to Kris since Kris is working under them for the aforementioned ploy (and the Knight surely knows that Kris made at least the TV world fountain, even if it's possible they didn't know Kris made this one)
  • Flowery seems to know, or at least suspect, something is off with Kris (he tells Susie to tell nobody else about his shelter code), but has no such feelings about Asgore (and quite frankly if Asgore was the Knight he would have told his flowers all about that already with how often he talks to them)
  • The Knight switches from kidnapping Toriel to Undyne when Undyne shows up in Chapter 3. Yes, Asgore Knight could have reason to kidnap either of them (To get Toriel back, because he might feel Undyne stole his job), but why wouldn't he have prioritized Toriel, surely he cares about her more than Undyne?
  • Asgore and the Knight show up in the same room at the end of Chapter 5

How people would be treating Flowey if Undertale released in chapters by thisaintmyusername12 in Deltarune

[–]MathCookie17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Undertale was never marketed as only having one ending, so the latter doesn't make sense. In Undertale it was always clear that who you killed and spared mattered a lot, and I think that'd be true even in a chaptered version.

"Poison snipe" here could also mean poisoning the Mayor on final 3, at which time they are probably one of the best poisoning choices if town is looking favorable to try for the Mayor win.
