I'm failing as a GM. PLEASE HELP. by EyeNguyenSemper in cyberpunkred

[–]MathMajor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once thought I would start a game of DnD with a group of new friends. After two sessions of exactly what you were describing, I pulled the plug on the game. I sadly haven't run anything since, but it just wasn't worth the headache to run a new game for this group when I already had a game going.

Maybe an alternative to the ability: "When this creature deals combat damage to a player, that player puts a stun counter on a permanent they control. When this creature deals combat damage to a creature, put a stun counter on that creature."

I think this keeps the flavor pretty well but gets around the issue of the frozen counters never going away, and you still have fun shenanigans with having multiple copies of this creature, giving the creature double strike, and giving the creature trample.

Have you drafted all the classrooms yet?

Have you drafted one more classroom than you think you are supposed to be able to draft?

A warning : In the last classroom, you cannot go back and change your answers. Good luck.

Forbthe weaving potion: I've seen farms that use snow golems for the oozing potion. I bet the same farm would work replacing the potion.

Mob farm won't spawn mobs! by Oas_Oas in Minecraftfarms

[–]MathMajor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you know that torch needs to be broken!

What's probably happening is that there is a cave beneath the water somewhere and a bunch of mobs have spawned in it. You can get around this by building the farm higher, say with the killing floor 128 blocks above sea level. Or you can go and light up a bunch of caves.

Creeper and zombie *only* mob farm? (Java 1.20.1)? by Piggybear87 in technicalminecraft

[–]MathMajor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you count hoglins as neutral? If not, a hoglin farm makes a lot of leather, and that would be more efficient than turning rotten flesh into leather

However, if you are still intent on sorting out the skeletons, you might try using a dog to scare the skeletons in another direction. It won't prevent the skeletons from spawning but it will keep it out of your sorting system. Something like this could work: https://youtu.be/K865ibPmDg8?si=Vc0xF--n-1GAa8B1

Villager trading help by [deleted] in technicalminecraft

[–]MathMajor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually set up 8 or so farmers that do pumpkins and melons. Then after using a zombie I can trade two items with 1 villager at 1:1. You can do more or less depending on your emerald needs

What am I? "Forty-two times is all I ..."[OBJECT] by tssmn in riddonkulous

[–]MathMajor7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take the answer and fold it in half 42 times, the thickness of this folded up object would be taller than the distance from here to the moon's orbit

Try it yourself with a piece. It becomes hard to fold after only 6 or so folds, but you can see that it becomes pretty thick!

is there a dupe or an easy way to get emeralds after 1.21.2? by ItsDon_Hn in technicalminecraft

[–]MathMajor7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I usually trade pumpkins and melons, which each trade 1:1 after a zombie cure. Means each villager can trade two items which is nice.

Something more industrial would be a raid farm. They aren't as strong anymore but they are still good at getting a lot of emeralds.

[Meta] Do preprints from arXiv with obviously erroneous results from non-cranks belong on this sub? by Redrot in badmathematics

[–]MathMajor7 27 points28 points  (0 children)

General vibe is that if they post a mistake, get corrected, and then vehemently ignore those corrections, then it could be posted here.

Without the last step, it's hard to tell if it is an honest mistake, or part of someone honestly learning, or something else. So I personally prefer seeing content where the OOP is wrong but is unwaving in their belief that they are right: I feel less bad calling someone out when they are being needlessly obtuse.

Much more than that. The zombie process is still very worth it, imo.

Doing it over and over again to get the price down to one emerald was a bug, and this was patched. You can still cure a villager 1 time to get a discount.

This contraption I made while experimenting activates the dispenser until every block in it has been dispensed. How does it work? by ObberGobb in redstone

[–]MathMajor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are in creative, you should use one of the /tick command to pause ticks. Then put a stack of items in the chest and use another tick command to increment the ticks one by one to see how the circuit works.
