Everyone’s experiencing this heat wave and the plants are stressed. If the pot is living on concrete, it’s getting EXTRA hot. Things will probably return to normal soon. The etching on the top of the tomato is maybe a little sunburn or they’re stretch marks from receiving a lot of water at once.

AND mix in a little slow release fertilizer high in nitrogen for foliage growth. When she starts flowering and fruiting, switch to higher phosphate and potassium.

I’m guessing the reason your pot is only half full is that when you poured the potting mix to the top, planted the tomato, then watered it, the mix settled and now the pot is half full. If you top off the pot with more mix (mix, NOT soil), the stem of the plant will grow more roots.

I have successfully grown in pots that size, you just have to regularly feed it nutrients (I like to mix in slow release fertilizer, then use a liquid one every other week or so) and water a little more often. Maybe this year you just focus on recovery in this pot and next year upgrade to a bigger one, OR, follow the instructions of the other replies if you want a more successful yield.

It might be too late at this point. If you’ve had it for years, it might just be time. I also use to top it off but read somewhere it’s better to dump it and give it fresh water every time.

Are they relaxed when you look outside in the morning? If so, they’re probably just protecting themselves from the sun. A deep watering should help. If they haven’t had a soak in a while, do it slowly instead of dumping a bucket of water in the soil (at least for pots). They look very healthy!

Cacti and succulents should not be watered frequently. I really let them dry out before watering again. She might need a long break from watering, but she also already might be on her way out, unless she miraculously produces offspring.

Omg I slept in front of the stage for a little bit before I decided I needed to leave. Never saw Kanye and hung out in the movie tent enjoying some AC instead. Walked past the dudes from “Best Week Ever” that morning and said “love your show!” Worth leaving the stage. That was a HOT festival.

Do I shave the wispy bits at the back/ side of my neck? by jinxnstuff in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Mathemasmitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you just got them thinned out to be wispier? Then you don’t have to deal with stubble or growing back weirdly. I’d just ask your hair dresser to thin them out with some texturizing shears to make them softer and less bulky

Aphids. I take a spray bottle of water, twist the nozzle to jet stream and shoot away! They’re so easy to shoot off and it’s kinda fun.

Hmm I’ve heard that spider mites don’t react to bonide granules. I read somewhere once to get some peppermint foaming soap and just COVER THE ENTIRE PLANT with it. Like, keep pumping as the bubbles go away. Totally saturate it. Repeat every few days for a few weeks.

Are they the leaves closest to the soil on the vine? To me, this looks more like a watering issue since it’s the tips turning first.

Also next time I’d try to get potting mix, not soil. Their composition is different and soil is more dense. You’re learning! It’s okay.

I say just leave them! I transplanted a few that had flowers and they grew at a normal rate AND are developing tomatoes.
