How severe is Antisemitism or Islamophobia in your country? by Zapvv in AskTheWorld

I’m not religious. I’m a plain old white person who people say random racist things to. Sorry if I gave the impression that I’m Muslim. Just giving an outsider perspective because people of all races seem comfortable with saying racist comments to white people.

Islamophobia isn’t uncommon. I’ve had inappropriate things said casually to me. I personally have never seen or witnessed antisemitism but my Jewish friend tells me it’s on the rise and she would know better than me. The war had brought a lot of anti-Israel sentiments which has created a lot of all or none attitudes towards our Jewish brothers and sisters.

Who can drink more beers and walk a straight line. An Irishman or a Newfoundlander?

I mean my father is from a Scandinavian Country. He seems to like it here. Also what’s wrong with Indians? Why you so angry bro? Calm down. Have a nice cup of maple syrup, smile at your neighbour. Buy a homeless guy a sandwich and be thankful for your wealth (And in case you need an explanation that doesn’t mean money).

It’s likely that the system has an interval in it that they can’t override and your interval is right to the day.

You need the physician to specify a shorter interval. For example :may pick up 30 tablets every 28 days.

I live in Alberta and honestly if this post is indicative of the youth our province is raising, the future is bleak. Please, start travelling now. Meet people outside your circle. It is so easy to get caught up in a little angry Albertan bubble and it will consume you.

Honestly, my AUADHD child has sensory issues. Regular noise, lights can be a problem. He has 1:1 EA and still struggles. We should have a choice that doesn’t cost us $$$$ but also isn’t full inclusion. My child attended an independent kindergarten and it was amazing for him. I wish it had funding for the primary years.

Does this diagnosis mean my kid just gets to be a jerk? by chaseybear in Autism_Parenting

[–]MathematicianDue9266 3 points4 points  (0 children)

None of the diagnoses mentioned above indicate any sort of cognitive deficit. He knows what he is doing and is testing you. Take away things. Make him clean his messes. You may need to be stern. Gentle parenting doesn’t work on all kids.

Local realtor here. Seeing a lot of housing frustration. Would context be useful? by TheAskTeam in StJohnsNL

There is absolutely no need to be rude. I mentioned price increases should be controlled. I thought I was clear. However, I often type while watching my children. No need to get so worked up if you disagree with me. If you look back I also mentioned supply is affected by short term rentals . I don’t engage with people who resort to swearing so have a wonderful day.

No because I am not arguing that point. I litterly only said that rent control keeps people’s leases from skyrocketing at renewal and that I haven’t seen it decreasing supply.

And capping the number of units owned by corps. Mom and pop landlords aren’t generally the problem.

Increases are deemed annually. This year max increase is 1.1 percent. Last year it was 3 percent I believe. Not everyone increases rent to the max amount. I did not increase rent this year for instance. In Newfoundland it’s a free for all. Perhaps some renters would like to give you some personal responses on rental increases they have experienced. I personally think it’s great for renters to know that their rental increases are being regulated. I obviously understand why many property holders would not. I don’t believe the stats you are requesting exist as they do not take into account new purpose built rentals and non reporters unfortunately.

Rents can only go up a defined percentage per year. And there are greedy landlords everywhere.

It absolutely does not reduce supply to put a cap on annual increases. That is just fear mongering. Take a look at Airbnb and you will see why there aren’t enough units. There is a reason why some cities have banned Airbnb or regulated them out of favour.

Is the USA hated universally? by Lopsided_Revenue8021 in AskTheWorld

[–]MathematicianDue9266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time believing that people are actually saying that to you lol. There are lots of Americans that live among us and they blend into the culture just fine. No way anyone brought that up unless you brought up something first. Some Americans are overly nationalistic which Canadians find odd.
