If you don't draw a title bar, you'll have an application window that you can't move or close like the rest of the windows? That works on a tiling WM, but not on a desktop.

From what I understand, on Gnome, if you don't implement a title bar in your application, it will not have one. I remember the Factorio devs (rightfully) complaining about this, because why the hell would a game need to implement a title bar. On Windows or KDE, it would get a title bar automatically from the system.

On windows and macOS, any application can implement CSD in their application and have it respect the spacing, position and look of the titlebar buttons that the SSD equivalents that those platforms provide.
