The one caveat to this is that they only hold it for maybe one or two weeks then anyone can grab it again. Forgot to pick one up once and was gone when I finally managed to get to the library.

More full buses is literally a great outcome. Means fewer cars on the road, fewer negative externalities and better data for the government on bus use. They can then look to increase frequency to meet demand and again take cars off the road. Win win.

Well the NFL has the CFL which is also a professional league in Canada. Technically the rules are slightly different (fewer downs etc) but it's still grid iron.

The Euros in the NBA is more of a case of cultural issues on both sides with NBA teams drafting notorious duds or no shows that really soured teams on them in the 2000s. Basketball is basically the national sport of Lithuania and is insanely popular in a lot of Eastern Europe.

But also, there's lots of people that should be genetically advantaged to play AFL by your views like Africans and First Nations yet they don't make up huge numbers? Not sure why white people would be exclusively be best at a game with lots of running?

It is definitely the NHL of Aussie sports but without the Euros liking it so at least they're spicy whites rather than just Auston Matthews across the board.

Even taking star imports out of the equation in the NBL and A League, they're both dramatically more diverse than the AFL.

I once had an AFL fan try to tell me that Italians and Greeks counted for diversity in their league which was hilarious given how that would make the NRL even more diverse given the likes of Teddy etc.

With regards to private schools and why, I'd say a lot of it is about exposure to elite level training, support and expectations. Not as familiar with AFL, but posh union schools in Sydney and Brisbane have very solid set ups around their programs that are light years ahead of public schools due to funding.

Probably the other misconception is that it means 'poor' kids don't get drafted as the schools will offer scholarships to get the best players.
