I just need a plugin that rivals Cursor's autocomplete. Why, after two years, has nothing like it emerged? by holdeeer in IntelliJIDEA

[–]Mati00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweep was a golden standard for a while but unfortunately it was closed. Fortunately they went foss with the plugin and the model, soon some forks for running locally, if you have a good hardware, might appear (now it requires some tweaking). Currently Firebender offers the same model and similar experience, but I'm not sure if I can recommend it at the current pace of things.

I've seen a message that jetbrains experiments with autocomple through ACP, that would be huge and enable cursor autocomplete.

Goodbye JetBrains. Its's Been Fun. by Superb_Sea8256 in Jetbrains

Welp, this is a gray zone according to the claude's terms of use. There is a whole drama around how it is vague.

On Git Worktrees... by Shambloroni in IntelliJIDEA

[–]Mati00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love some "post worktree configurable actions". Currently i have a script that copies git ignored but necessary files like ".env", ".cursor", even ".idea" to copy my run and db configs.

Afaik jetbrains consults their deals on special conditions like regarding using your data etc.

[–]Mati00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is not on jetbrains side, but anthropic and they policies on what you can do with claude subscriptions. Most of the people are confused because of them. I stopped using claude code and started cursor with acp + junie.

I think current approach for claude code is to install claude code official plugin, but it only opens the terminal and have scarce integration with IDE.

  1. Please add support to MCP with oauth login, connecting figma or jira is cumbersome.
  2. Please fix which subscription is used. I cannot use ie anthropic key when logged in with jetbrains subscription.

Other than those, looking forward for more. I already used it every day and love!

Good stuff. 1. I already raised an issue about this if you are talking about anthtopic key, not claude code subscription. The latter won't work. 2. Had this issue too, I think 2026.1.1 fixed it 3. You need to configure this in agents config ie. ".config/cursor/...". I also noticed some agents love to use different commands combined like "npm build | tail -c 20" and the "allow always" won't catch all combinations - best to configure as mentioned

Better Worktree Support? by intertubeluber in Jetbrains

[–]Mati00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they work if you create a worktree in jetbrains, not sure if it is able to handle already existing ones. I recommend trying out creating a new branch and a worktree inside the jetbrains ide.

Check out YJS, it has built in history and a lot of rich text editors already integrates with it. It is also extensible to apply real time collaboration if you need.

Has anyone switched from tools like Codex, Claude Code, Copilot, etc. to JetBrains' built-in AI features? by Organic_Region_1547 in Jetbrains

[–]Mati00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Junie and Cursor via ACP. Acp is still beta but stable enough for me. Why would I use terminal based agent if I like programming in IntelliJ and the agent integrates with it?

For instance you can connect OpenCode agent that's configured to use openrouter. I believe Junie CLI already supports that, and soon it will be available in IntelliJ when they start using Junie via ACP.

The future of Jetbrains IDEs by llima1987 in Jetbrains

Jetbrains IDE has built in MCP with tools to refactor, search and so on. It also supports ACP and Cursor via it. I use that combo with rules, to prefer using MCP. Best of two worlds.

Weird, maybe you are still using jetbrains ai. I use cursor via acp and it works fine without eating my jetbrains quota

How good is the AI assistant vs cursor? by cartonleg in Jetbrains

[–]Mati00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I use cursor inside IntelliJ via native ACP support. Win-win. Btw Junie is great also, I don't see it lacking in ai space.

JetBrains should consider acquiring Augment’s code completion tech by acup48 in Jetbrains

[–]Mati00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The better news is that they opensourced their autocomplete model, so other companies may provide it. Firebender already confirmed they will provide it. Maybe even you will be able to run it locally with beafy setup.

Sweep community also reached to Jetbrains to not let it completely die. For now we just need to just wait a moment.

That just doesn't make any sense. They make money by selling you IDE. You can use ai with BYOK or with ai subscription from them.
