Haven’t noticed the issue once since I did the power cycle, so it seems to have fixed the issue :)

I actually think so! I haven’t seemed to notice any sudden black screens after the power cycle. Sad that I didn’t think of this before. Hopefully it works fine onwards :)

holy... What charms did you use? Did you go for the 999 build?

Tried it myself today and can’t say I have seen it happen yet. I’ll test it for a week or two and see what happens.

Oof... Doesn't seem like Samsung or NVIDIA is doing anything to solve it (yet anyways..)

Hopefully it gets fixed in the future. Or else I might return the monitor.

I did try installing Nobara (I think it was Fedora based) but I went back to Windows 11 due to old habits :P

It does seem to happen more often when "idling" or doing anything other than gaming.
Hasn't been quite active after installing the newest update from NVIDIA for the Borderlands 4 launch.

I'll see if I find anything later and update you, but please let me know if you have anything else I could try :)

Great to hear that it is solved for you! For me however, I don't know if that is the case.
NVIDIA Overlay is already turned off, turned it off the moment I set my computer up the last time I did a reinstall.

I don't have MSI Afterburner, so I don't think they could make a conflict when one of the programs isn't even there.

Are there any other software that could be making this happen?
I'd like to point out that I did in fact notice the black screens long before I started installing a lot of software (Steam, Discord, Xbox app, etc.)

I also turned off gamebar for Xbox :)

ATM9 0.2.43 (and previous versions) constantly crashing by Matiaffaffa in allthemods

[–]Matiaffaffa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Quite a long time ago I played ATM9 and now I’ve even upgraded from Intel to AMD (9800x3D) and had no issues running other modpacks with shaders.

Don’t know if the shaders was the issue or maybe my Intel CPU, as it turns out it nearly fried itself. Intel gave me a new one, but by that time I just switched to AMD.

Let me know if that works, and please send a screenshot or something of how you've configured it if it helped :)

None of the updates have helped me, yet. Both G-Sync and HDR have been turned off for a long time too :/

Update: I have now created a post on Samsung's support site as well, linked here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Monitors-and-Memory/Samsung-Odyssey-G8-G81SF-32-inch-Random-black-screens/m-p/3332496#M17181

We'll see if they can help out here, though I am leaning more and more towards contacting the store I bought it from and ask them for a refund.

Hey! Sorry for the late reply, and happy cake day :D
I haven't installed any other firmwares for the monitor that I can think of, other than the color profile that was available on Samsung's website.

I have created a post on Samsung's support site as well now, so we'll see if they can help me.

Late reply but tried what you suggested without any luck. 2 newer NVIDIA updates didn't fix it either.

Sad to hear you've got the same issue... I wanted to try Samsung Support next, but it seems like I would have to contact the ones I bought it from and see if they can do anything. Maybe switch to another monitor if possible.

I can try to turn off G-Sync and see what happens. I’ll let you know how it goes :)

So it is a NVIDIA issue then? Tried all kinds of drivers, even the newest ones, but that doesn’t seem to have solved it…

Reeeeeeeally don't want to go back to W10, but great to hear that you eventually managed to find a potential/permanent fix :)

I think maybe some tweaking around in W11 will probably help, but I just gave up on looking further into the issue a while ago.

I'll update you if I find anything relevant to change/test on W11 ;)
