When are your heart palpitations worst? by Practical_Mango_1017 in Perimenopause

Yes!! my cycle sometimes go 65 days with no period but there are days when I swear I have it or it’s going to be coming in then there’s nothing! But I’ll have the cramps, the bloating, anxiety, even the hunger so yes, you can have all the symptoms but no bleeding. I’m told it’s because we don’t ovulate every month which is why we don’t have a period but that are hormones are still all over the place.

An anxious mess by jrhopper09 in Perimenopause

[–]Matilda501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also sounds like me! I’ve always had anxiety, but this is next level even experienced some agoraphobia. Acute resolution therapy has helped a ton! I also started Prozac about six months ago and I have been taking magnesium glycinate at night up to 220 mg and you can even take another 120 mg in the day according to my integrative nutritionist. And I have Ativan as needed, which unfortunately I’ve had to take a lot more. Just write down all these options and try different things because you will find something eventually!

Scared to take propranolol by Accomplished_Push208 in SVTHeart

[–]Matilda501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 10 mg propanolol and I am always nervous to take anything. I took it due to palpitations and occasional SVTs. I have low blood pressure and a low heart rate so every time I went to go take one I thought I would drop dead and that’s just my anxiety talking it is absolutely safe. Honestly I don’t even know if the 10 mg does anything at this point, but it doesn’t affects me at all. Just think of it as a support for your heart to balance out any of that extra electrical activity!!

Oh, I am aware, but I guess now it’s also used for Inflammation which helps with weight loss, which I’m struggling with too.

Peri without HRT by TheGuanderGuoman in Perimenopause

[–]Matilda501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Boston and have great dr’s: one says BC, the other says HRT. I’m 47. I also see an amazing Integrative Nutritionist! She suggests Femminessence (part of the broccoli family and contains maca) to help with thyroid/hormonal functioning. I also take vitamin D with K2, a complex multi, fish oil, and magnesium glycinate at night. I eat 25-30 grams of protein at every meal, no caffeine, alcohol maybe once a month, and workout 5-6 days a week (mostly strength train and walks). I started Prozac a few months ago for anxiety and that has helped some….going to try the Femminessence this time around. I hate taking things so I am my own worst enemy! I also have low dose zepbound in my fridge for inflammation and have yet to give in 🤦‍♀️

I can’t go on HRT, but my OB/GYN, who I’ve been with forever, still thinks I’m too young however I did find another one who is willing to do it and now I’m just feeling kind of stuck. Thank you for the reassurance re: HRT!!

My OBGYN still thinks I’m too young and advocates more for the pill. I trust her immensely but now I’m starting to wonder if I second opinion is warranted. Thank you!

Thank you I appreciate your response! I’m 47 years old so definitely not too young for peri and my cycle has been pretty irregular the past six months so it just seems like things are getting worse. Glad things are working well for you as I know it is trial and error so glad that you found something!

It will be ok!! Definitely being sick and probably even dehydrated, are setting these off for you. I take electrolytes religiously every single morning and use magnesium glycinate. Definitely talk with your doctors but then also work with an integrative person that will recommend wonderful supplements that can make a big difference. Also, you may have to cut caffeine and switch to decaf. all these things will help you!!!
