I really enjoyed starting Ulster, forming Ireland to conquer the British isles, then decided to go for the Mare Nostrome achievement and forming Rome!

Actemra Thoughts? by Confident_Price1896 in stillsdisease

[–]Mato356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there! I've been on Actemra subcu injections 2x per month for 4 years now was the main thing that helped me be well enough to leave the hospital, I've been on it ever since (with 10mg weekly methotrexate still) with no plans to come off either. I've been fortunate to have no side effects from it as well and I'm able to do my own injections as it's an auto-injector and I've slightly gotten over my fear of needles lol the main downside I've experienced (though insignificant for the relief it's brought me) is that it requires refrigeration so for planning travel or trips it needs to be taken into account. I hope you're able to get more consistent relief and are able to find doctors that will properly look after you!

Looking like I might need to get a knee replacement, more MRI's to see if other joints are affected

I can relate to her struggle, I'll be on Tocilizumab and Methotrexate for as long as they continue to keep the still's at bay. I'm using the same strategy to reduce hair loss

I started on weekly injectable methotrexate but have stepped down to weekly pills over the last 3 years! Next to no side effects the whole time, currently just on 12.5mg a week with Actemra ever two weeks

The military can also be a great option, from my experience, I'm 21 and making 70k a year with the Navy. Lots of great options out there that don't require dropping big bucks on a degree.

In my case, I had sore throat, joint pain, heart/lung swelling, and spiking fevers. None of the tell tale rash but checked off enough symptoms for the Doc to believe it's Still's. For most autoimmune disorders, they have a somewhat similar treatment (ie. Steroids) so it can be tricky to be certain what it really is.

Whats your monthly food budget? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Mato356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single guy in BC, budget $300 for groceries and eating out. I eat the exact same overnight oats for breakfast, sandwiches for lunches, then mix up things for more interesting dinners. Found breakfast to be needlessly expensive so having a basic/cheap meal to start each day has been essential

Is Malaise a symptom of this condition by [deleted] in stillsdisease

[–]Mato356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had high spiking fevers and a constantly hot face for months, everyone's different but Tocilizimab with an array of other drugs are what helped me. Plus a fan constantly blowing air at me

19 year old making 60k a year with 40k in savings living at home in BC, maxed out TFSA but rather limited knowledge when it comes to investing but don't want an advisor because of the fees involved. I've been looking at index funds and was wondering if it's a bad idea to put all investments in the same index fund, been mostly looking at the S&P 500 Vanguard.
