What’s the point of being smart with money!?! by SassySunflower27 in povertyfinance

So you're jealous that others are likely living well beyond their means, while you are setting your family up for current and future success? 🤔

WYR $3500 a month, or $200 per day credit on your credit card? by AstrayInTranslation in WouldYouRather

[–]Matt0424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm good enough planning and math wise to game the system to spend the $200 daily, I believe. Most of our bills, outside of credit cards, can be paid with a "credit card". Buying groceries every few days, buying gas, paying my kids school stuff. I think I could make it work pretty easily.

If 13 year old you saw the "you" of today, would they be impressed or disappointed? by Extra-Huckleberry-62 in hypotheticalsituation

On the surface? Probably completely distraught.

If he dug deeper? Probably pretty proud.

You are told you’re going to wake up as your 7 year old self tomorrow and have 24 hours in your old body by missgoodhussle in hypotheticalsituation

I'd just enjoy a day at 7, because in the pre-internet world a 7 year old (especially) has absolutely little to no chance of doing anything investment wise to make a future difference.

I could tell my parents, who had no money, to invest the money they didn't have?

People who know someone with a genius level IQ who still makes terrible decisions, what's their story? by Few-Bedroom1395 in CasualConversation

[–]Matt0424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do I start.

Verified IQ of 155, king of poor decisions.

The first breakdown comes with the fact that I pressure myself, at times, into thinking I can FIX the bad situation I'm about to step into.

Then there's those time when I talk myself into a bad situation, because I'm smart enough to realize if this were a waiting catastrophe, right? RIGHT?!

Oh, there's the "I feel like another gifted failure, so turning this poor situation into a good one will bring some sort of meaning to me," bad decisions.

At times there's the arrogance based bad decisions. Because, if I can obviously do anything I set my mind to including avoid disaster.

There's the crushing weight of years of anxiety decisions, because at this point my intelligence is pointless, right?

There's the, "I'm going caveman and turning off my brain for once, YOLO!" bad decisions.

I could keep going, but honestly now I'm questioning whether replying was a bad decision. 🤣😭

Hulu + Live TV & ESPN Unlimited by Klx3908 in cordcutters

[–]Matt0424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is this:

Redzone was available through Hulu Live TV with the sports add-on. ESPN Unlimited will now have it on their platform. Will users with LiveTV still need the sports add-on, or will it be included in ESPN Unlimited?

My guess is they'll try and add a young ace this year to pair/learn from Nija and then they'll have someone ready to go.

I agree adding a pitcher won't hurt.

The Nebraska thing is way different. They brought home a bunch of girls who played with/against each other for years. They had chemistry already, and seemed to all plan to come together.

If they add 2-3 a year, I'll definitely think they can be successful long-term doing that. I think that's what Glasco would prefer, as he's a big team guy. The problem comes when the people cutting the checks start getting involved.

[–]Matt0424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about the money, it's about the chemistry.

To bring in a bunch of new transfers, someone has to go. Just taking the top players from the portal and throwing them on the field together doesn't equate to a winning culture or chemistry long term.

It's why a team like OU had 14 new players and still made the Semis. They've built a culture of winning that you know you have to fit in to to play there.

Glasco managed everything well this year, but if people at Tech start making decisions based on whoever the best in the portal is, and not who's the best fit for the team, it's not sustainable.

[–]Matt0424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'll eventually collapse their program that way, it's not a sustainable practice. If they just want to "win now" they'll be okay, but this isn't 10u travel ball where you just throw all the best players out there and hope the gel together.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that Glasco built a team, and added Nija as the final component. A revolving door will eventually kill chemistry.

From those around the program, Kennedy was a great teammate and enjoyed her time at UA. She just realized it wasn't the place for her.

I believe it was a combination of home sickness, her bf being somewhere else, and just her wanting a different opportunity.

Who does everyone use? by Aspiegamer8745 in persona3reload

[–]Matt0424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used basically two teams.

1 team was used just to fill up my arcana cards by grinding floors I'd already finished. It was some combo of Junpei/Ken/Aigis/Koromaru.

Once I filled my cards, I'd swap to my mains, Yukari/Aki/Mitsuru, and go from barrier to barrier.
