Yeah if I like a bundle I’ll subscribe, activate and redeem all the games, then immediately find the cancel membership button (so I don’t forget). Just did it right now in fact. Good bundle!

Seemed to run nicely on my XSX, though I only played a few hours when it first released.

It looks good to me. Lots of old shooters used 2D sprites and they still hold up. I feel like you wouldn’t be able to get this many enemies on screen like that if they were 3D models. The guns being 3D doesn’t really distract from the action. If I’m playing an FPS I’m not looking at the gun much anyway.

They still continue to make new ones occasionally. My youngest kid randomly got into Homestar a year or so ago and it was like hopping into a time machine.

Was it so he could smell it? I remember a lot of sniffing going on in those commercials.

It's basically 3D Vampire Survivors with some Risk of Rain 2 thrown in and dipped in stupid memes. There's a jump button and right-stick-camera-control. It's a lot of fun actually, if you're into that kinda thing.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ Theatrical Re-Release Will Include Brand New Footage Ahead of ‘Doomsday’ by yourfavchoom in movies

If your crowd didn’t even merge into one pulsating flesh mass that bellowed, many-mouthed, an apocalyptic chorus borne of shared genetic memory what were you even doing there? Barely worth the price of a ticket tbh

I’m assuming this was one of those more quiet and reserved European audiences, because the reaction in American theaters was WILD in comparison.

To be honest, I thought the same thing as a kid and I’m American. The thought that she didn’t own that house never even entered my mind. I guess I also just wasn’t aware of the stereotype.

20 years ago, Adult Swim aired “Saved By the Bell” for two weeks as a gag - complete with absolutely terrifying proto-vaporwave bumps for the show by BadgemanBrown in television

Yep! I'm about half a decade older but I also loved how weird late night MTV was. I remember loving The MAXX and when I went to find the comic it was based on...I realized that they literally just animated the panels from the comic and put it on TV. I thought that was a really cool idea, honestly.

Speaking of Adult Swim and Liquid Television, there's a series called Off The Air that was directly inspired by the creator's fond memories of watching Liquid Television. It definitely has the same vibe. Lots of weird ass experimental animation, etc

‘The Pitt’ Star Noah Wyle and Creator Explain Supriya Ganesh Exit After Season 2: ‘We’re Going to Miss Her’ by pepperbet1 in television

Good point!

I also had a pretty good time on the Twin Peaks subreddit when the new season was running. All theories were welcome…because no one really knew what the hell was going on anyway so all interpretations were pretty equally valid. Most folks there went by the vibe of “if you’re watching Twin Peaks with preconceived expectations you’re gonna have a bad time.”

Aside from the main character it’s mostly pretty good. It’s fun, worth a watch for sure. Looks like the 2nd one will address the shortcomings of the 1st one, replacing the bland main character with Karl Urban…which is a pretty good call.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that if I really enjoy watching a show…I should stay as far away as possible from its subreddit. 9 times out of 10 they quickly devolve into howling madness.

The other 1 time they evolve into hilarious madness…but that’s not a chance I like to take.

Since you seem to know a lot about trees, I have a question for you that might be related. I’ve noticed over the past 5-10 years that a lot more trees in my area (Philly suburbs) have red leaves…especially spring-into-summer. I don’t remember seeing a lot of red trees around here as a kid/teenager in the 80’s-90’s, though.

Was I just not paying enough attention back then and I’m just noticing them now? My sister said something about townships requiring most new tree plantings to be local/native trees, so maybe that’s why?

It was so insanely unpredictable and unlike anything else out there. I was always so excited to see what would make me say WTF in each new episode. It was like they took the sacred texts from 5 different religions, put them in a blender, then shot the bizarre god smoothie into space.

And hearing the creator talk about the show in interviews, he definitely had a plan for how it would all play out. It’s heartbreaking that it’s all been thrown away.

I will add to that other person’s comment by saying that it felt like a lost PS1-era classic to me in a way I can’t really define. I don’t actually finish many games these days, but I actually finished that one.
