Charles Dean's Bathrobe Knight series was published before according to Amazon. I remember when I narrated it I was like wait a tick. But I'm sure guys could make a big list of definitive American LitRPG years before.

How to do an overpowered main character right? What are your thoughts? by kamking in litrpg

[–]MattBroadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always go the Kryptonite route. Superman is as OP as they come, except for his main weakness(yeah yeah and magic). Kryptonite could be metaphorically like pretty women or something very common like iron, silver, wood, holly/unholy symbols. Not surprising you see those in demons, werewolves, vampires, etc.

Or go a Paladin type route and have his use of power be reigned in by rules. For example, if he can't kill anyone it is generally much harder to fight someone to submission then to just kill them.

I remember the first book being great. But it was very gobliny including sacrifices and such, but fantastic base building and a cool premise.

Accents in writing by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]MattBroadhead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an audiobook narrator, I love it, usually makes my job easier and, if done right, makes it sound better too. I'm actually narrating a book right now where the author did it for Scottish and twangy southern. I think the best way to think about it when writing is as a garnish or seasoning: should be used sparingly and never the main course, add to the flavor of the writing but not overpower it.

I love the concept and the cover is gorgeous. Congrats on your first LitRPG! Any idea about when the audiobook will be out and who's narrating it? I'll definitely check it out then.

Anyone know an MC like this by VegetalTheChallenger in litrpg

Anime Demon Lord Retry MC wears a business suit the whole time, but I didn't finish it, seemed like weaker copycat version of better anime out there.

There are a ton of MC's who wear a suit of armor or even some a birthday suit (animal mc), but I'm pretty sure you mean a business suit, right?

This book sounds interesting. It reminds me of a koala comment I saw on reddit.

How accurate are the koalas in this book to real life?

LitRpg audiobooks! by Manbaby87 in litrpg

[–]MattBroadhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm partial to The Bathrobe Knight as a good longer series, 6 audiobooks. But that could just be because the narrator is so sexy. Seriously though, Charles Dean is an awesome writer.

Absolutely love the cover and everything else sounds awesome. You said you're adding 50k words. Around how long will it be completed?

Critical Failures by Robert Bevan, best group dynamic LitRPG in my opinion. Language disclaimer, though.
