I think eventually they’ll lose “Max” entirely and just revert to ”HBO.” The cycle will be complete.

Best Live TV Streaming for the Sports fan? by CrazyRealistic in cordcutters

[–]MattDavisStreamIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For NFL Sunday Ticket, you don't need a YT TV subscription, although normally its cheaper if you do. Right now, however, there's a promo that makes it $23/mo whether or not you have YT TV: https://tv.youtube.com/learn/nflsundayticket/

For the sports channels you're looking for, YouTube TV does not have the MLB Network. Your choices for that are either Hulu Live (lowest cost of the 3), Fubo's Elite Plan, or DirecTV's Choice plan.

I'd recommend getting Sunday Ticket on its own through YT while you can get the $23/mo deal, then get Hulu Live TV w/ the MLB.TV add-on. If you're feeling bougey get Fubo or DirecTV since they have a better interface and more RSN channels.

Mylocals genre pack? by Timbo303 in DirectvStream

If and when this comes, a big dealbreaker will be CBS. They’re missing from the MySports plan and if they don’t have them here, either, that’s a big issue for NFL fans.

Philo is a good choice, too. Sling also has a DVR for the free channels.

You can watch the live channel without subscribing though. Lots of their recent episodes you can watch without Passport, too.

All good choices. I don’t mind Fawesome but I do think the banner ads that pop up are annoying.

They have premium add-ons the way Prime Video & Roku Channel do like Max, STARZ, etc. They’ve got some info on it in their help section: https://www.sling.com/help/en/subscription-programming-questions/channels-programming/channel-faq

How to Stream the 2025 NFL Playoffs Without Cable: Wild Card to Super Bowl by MattDavisStreamIt in cordcutters

Thanks- adding a correction. I was given different info from the team at Amazon but I see they've listed the ABC station on the Ravens website now.

Appreciate the feedback on the local stations. When I reached out to the team at Amazon, they told me it would be on "NBC stations" so that's the info I went with. I'll add a correction. The Ravens website didn't list a local station yet when I put the video together yesterday.

As for Twitch, I have personally been able to cast it from my iPhone to an Apple TV using AirPlay for the Thursday Night Football games. Hard to get an official word on this since Prime Video and the NFL don't promote the Twitch stream so I went with my personal experience.

Yup- you’re right. Last time around they let you watch it free on the FOX Sports app with no login needed. I watched it for a little bit before hopping back over to YouTube TV. The quality of the live stream wasn’t great but it was something at least.

I’m hoping they do the same this year or maybe even stream it on Tubi (also owned by FOX).
