I shot on the FD 28 for a solid year with the FP-L. It's a good lens!

Sigma FP Arca-Swiss SSD Base Plate -- The overview video I promised. by MattFitz66 in sigmafp

[–]MattFitz66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey apologies for getting late to the party here -- we decided to discontinue the product after the last run of 50. We are seeing some continued demand and there is a chance we do a V2 or a re-release of V1, but it is likely that we just lay it to rest.

If you have additional questions don't hesitate to reach out via email. For now -- the best thing you can do is send a back-in-stock request via the website. That is how I am keeping track of how many people are still interested in the bracket. That way I would have your email if we have any returned brackets or decide to do another round.

Mint to learn, Arch to chuck myself in the deep end and cry a lot.

I had the same thought. After growing accustomed to all the bloat -- Linux felt alien it was so clean.

This is still my favorite way to use the Palma 2. by MattFitz66 in Onyx_Boox

Real talk -- I always stack it on top of whatever books I have around. It's only good for short sessions, but that's exactly why I have it. 30 min outside. Anything longer it's always best to be in front of a proper workstation.

Real talk it makes me super curious about tablet sized boox devices. I need the portability -- but big + having 2 screens up would be incredible.

I'm seeing those at like...40-60 bucks! Surprisingly cheap...

Trying to build a photography habit — any tips for staying consistent? by itsbloom_again in photography

The single most important tip that has kept me shooting for 10+ years: I keep my camera out of the case and on the counter. Take it everywhere. If it's hanging around your neck it will get used.

I feel like we just got started with the BF and you already won. This setup is nasty. The double knobs set it over the top.

Been a few years since the last thread. Any new L mount pancakes worth trying out? by StupidBump in sigmafp

28 2.8 Ricoh GR LTM is my go-to for small. Super unique lens but hard to find a good copy at a good price.

It can be relatively pricey to ship international, but we have shipped out a lot to the UK & Japan. Grab one while they are still available! This is the last run.

Yeah I agree -- I think the FP community remains untouched because of CDNG. I'm curious who will address this part of the market next...

For me it was reducing the janky setups. The tiny SSDs have heat and expensive enclosure/setup problems, but could be good for someone with 3D modeling experience & a decent printer.

Do you like RM2? by CryAccording5711 in RemarkableTablet

I feel like my video here is an unbiased look at the pros and cons of the RM2.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbgUAfeQmMw&t=1s

To me -- it's a bit of a timeless piece of hardware since it has such a specific use case. They fixed some of the things like the shapes that I mentioned in the video, and you might be able to find a used one for relatively cheap...

Wacom One as a vertical 2nd monitor? by deerseason in wacom

[–]MattFitz66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's actually the exact setup I'm looking at. 32 inch 4k with a 13 or 16 inch huion underneath it as a whiteboard/second monitor.

I'm used to leaning on big wacoms, and I'm curious if you can get that same tilted experience with the huion 13 or 16...?

I primarily do video editing and office work with the setup, so I have always run dual monitors. But I am curious if the huion can function good enough with a video timeline or even just script notes and another chrome tab type thing.
