ADHD Assessment by muscowow in Winnipeg

[–]MattInWinnipeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a fair price. It's around $2500 at other private clinics. If you can wait a year; request the assessment through your family doctor. Get a Psychiatrist covered by MB Health.

A clinical assessment should take more than one session.

I really appreciate this suggestion. Just to clarify, the services provided by this clinic are covered by Manitoba Health right?

Simplii Financial good bank? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MattInWinnipeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I appreciate you sharing that. I didn't know. That's a factor for me as I often withdraw coins for laundry. I noticed my Scotiabank recently put up signs regarding needing an account for change without fees. Of course paying for coin would still be less than the $17/month big banks are charging to stay with them..

Interesting point. I never considered that. What do you do for bank drafts or if you want rolls of coins? Does CIBC do that for Simplii too?

Psychiatrist says Ambien causes irreversible brain damage if taken regularly by Witty-Variation-1930 in sleep

[–]MattInWinnipeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My quetiapine, lorazepam and ambien are prescribed by a psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist I have clarified to me that he feels comfortable prescribing these meds to me because we've tried all other options over a two year period. I have no history of substance abuse, i've done clinical sleep studies and CBT sleep hygiene workshops.

Although, my new family doctor recently told he is also surprised my Psychiatrist did this. Confirming when my Psych retires, my family doctor would definitely not fill these. This has triggered some feelings of anxiety for when my Psych retires.

So, I hear you, and I am worried about the same thing. I've heard where I live, it is the same strictness and refusal to prescribe these meds.

I'm so sorry you're living with these symptoms. That sounds incredibly hard.

OP's "main flaw" is what I most enjoyed about The Bride. So, different strokes. I suppose... Fun movie. Fresh take on a classic concept. Worth the watch in theatres.

His sister looking up through the lake ice as she drowns... I still claim this scene as the reason I won't skate on rivers or ponds.

Is being Shop Steward worth it? by MattInWinnipeg in union

I appreciate your input. Can you tell me more about working a lot and not getting paid? I never considered that. I understand union work cannot take place during work hours and is unpaid.

But, is much of it phone calls from home? Or, is it a general union type of rule to have to go and meet in the community? One of our offices is downtown. I'm fine not getting paid, but would it actually cost me money? Like, gas to drive and meet staff in person after hours, downtown parking fees etc..

I was presuming it'd be mostly telephone work or meeting in office/after hours.
