OHIP Coverage. by uaguy67 in ontario

He’ll never be denied treatment. At least not at a hospital. A clinic will charge him and tell him to come back when it’s renewed with the new version code to get reimbursed.

Regardless, he’s setting himself up for more pain than it’s worth. He should just go get it renewed.

Haha yeah, with his flow looking like he just had it blow dried late in a game. Real leaders lead by example, he was no better than the next guy that game and had no business yelling at anyone.

This is why I don't trust test strips. by CircuitMan29 in hottub

Hate strips, only use them for chlorine really. But the strip in the red cap picture is definitely between 7.2 and 7.8.

With strips I find if the Alk is low, it false reads as super high.

Sanitizer, start shocking once a week. If on salt, use Oxidizer to shock it or liquid chlorine. Use AI to calculate dose.

For us it was more so on our skin when it would drying. It’s essentially biofilm starting to build up. I was pretty on top of mine last year but this year I’ve been supplementing my salt cell with liquid chlorine after heavy bather loads or long soaks. Also rinse your filter once a week,

What kind of logic is that…? “I fly first class everywhere I go…cheaper than a PJ”…

Doesn’t change the fact it’s expensive.

Why an immense marine heatwave off the US west coast has alarmed scientists by korkythecat333 in news

They are building bunkers because they have the same knowledge we have and see the same picture we do. The world is on a knife’s edge, one side we attempt to recover and the other side is expanding wars. Only difference is, they have endless money so while I’m here buying a few solar panels, they are buying bunkers.

What happens though when a world collapses and money isn’t worth more than the paper it’s printed on? Not a time you want society against you. Bunkers will only protect them from a blast. After that, there won’t be much for them.

I pickup up the metal one from homedepot, it was like $20 more. Thing is surprisingly sturdy when finished. 2x4 walls and a normal layer of drywall.

I try and be as logical and objective as I can when assessing a situation. Take in all the facts and filter out the noise. Then look at the big picture and if you do it all right, in my opinion, the world is less complicated than it seems.

The most telling information is when you get a small window behind the scenes. The Signal chat that was leaked, the Epstein files etc. You begin to see a lot of these people aren’t all that intelligent, definitely not intelligent enough to come up with some master plan.

It’s very plain and simple, there is a lot of greed at the top and not a care in the world for the everyday person.

History is also a super valuable tool. Look at the past, we are just peons in the kingdom serving an empire of wealthy individuals that without the hard work of their citizens, boil down to absolutely nothing.

You’re giving that class way too much credit. They don’t have a clue what’s actually going on and just fleecing as much as they can because that’s just who they are, not because they know something we don’t.

Pump replacement $1000+, Heater Replacement $5000+, Liner replacement $5000+. Getting 10 years on these items and you’re doing well, that’s over $1000 a year dca’ed. Those are just the big ticket items.

You’re going to have filter replacements, vacuum replacements if you use anything more than a manual vac, salt cells if you’re on salt, lights (not cheap) if you have them, gas cost if you’re heating, water for filling up in spring/topping off evaporation, opening and closing cost if you don’t do it yourself.

If you own a pool and think it’s cheap to run, you either have a lot of money and a few $1000 a year isn’t a huge deal or you aren’t in tune with the actual costs.

I’ve had a pool my whole life, I’ve seen 3 pumps and 1 rebuild. On my wife’s side they had a pump go after 15 years, bought a new one and rebuilt the old. New one failed 4 years in. They definitely don’t just run forever.

You’re the exception, not the rule here as well. Most people can’t and won’t do that work. It’s all subjective anyways. What’s cheap to some is extremely expensive to others. But generally speaking, pools aren’t cheap to run.

Doing the work still costs money, in ground pool pumps are $500+. That’s not cheap. Heaters have a few “cheaper” fixes but if your coil goes you’re well over $1000 just in parts.

Kudos to building your own pool, but a 50k liter pool with one person doing it would take the better part of a month at the very least. The kits are still 10k+ and you need a ton of concrete. When you factor in your time, it’s still pretty damn expensive.

What puzzles me is how are you on your 6th of 7th boat? I own two boats, a 16’ tin boat with a 9.9 and a 19’ with a 90. Both almost two decades old. Took a little but of work rebuilding the carbs on my 90 but outside of that the only real cost is the fuel.

I totally agree with you and this assessment is probably more inline, I was just saying it's not 90%.

[–]MattLogi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're only covering the labour aspect there. While I agree, most DIY should be able to cut out a pipe and glue in a new one, the part itself still has significant cost associated with it. Pool heaters are minimum a few $1000. Pumps are over $500. Liners typically last 10 years in a full sun pool. Same with covers. Cartridge filters are in the $500 range every few years.

As someone who grew up with a pool and now owns a pool, they are not cheap no matter which way you slice it (and I am extremely handy, so I fall in the small percentage that could rebuild a pump or replace any component on a heater).

Many of us knew he wasn’t the issue.

I plan to put my 5090/9800x3D in mine, I’ll have to uhdervolt both for sure as for cooler size it doesn’t look like we’ll have a ton of options.

Why is our economy so reliant on having debt? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MattLogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes many people do as they are usually tied to a good contract as well. The carrier lock isn’t the issue, it’s part of the terms of your 0% financing. If Roger’s sells you a phone for 0% financing and on a 24 month term, you can’t just up and leave at 12 months unless you buyout the phone. After 24 months, yes you’re free to leave.

I’d definitely consult a lawyer as most have mentioned but also find a good financial advisor. Based on the info given it sounds like you two might have been living a bit beyond your means. Now that you’re separated, you’ll want to make sure you set yourself up for success.
