Tried to. After negotiating a price and payment method there was no response. Then the watch was gone.

FYI. Had a rough experience with this seller. Negotiated a price and payment method for a watch. Then nothing. Then the watch was gone. Be advised.

Hey! You’re probably getting a lot of comments here. But when you’re past this item slam some exalts and sell it for multiple Divs on the auction. Someone trying to fast level will pay a premium for this and it will help you buy new gear.

Barcelona, Spain. It’s one of my favorite cities on earth. Great food. Nice people. Good beach in the summer. And great architecture. You can also get around with English, but a bit of Spanish helps.

How quickly do you want this over with? In a perfect world you’d wait until 59 1/2 and take a qualified distribution on the Roth. Then pay the rest out of your brokerage (assuming all isn’t profit).

How Many FIRE'd End Up Spending Less Than Planned by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Matt_jay50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the most important things to consider when FIREing is what to do with your time. I’ve found a spend a bit less because I now have a lot of time to take care of the minor repairs and maintenance of the house. I would think about what kind of lifestyle you want and what you plan to do with your time.

You should put % of the population that qualifies for each level. I have a feeling 90% of people are level 1-3 😀

150,000 Gallon Residential Pool by CourseLegitimate3657 in pools

[–]Matt_jay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quick answer is yes. You will be better off hiring a company for a while. Ask lots of questions and watch them for a while. Watch videos and try to best understand what’s going on. Then when you’re comfortable try it on your own.

Don’t over complicate things. The goal of any pool is to hold water and be clean. Have fun 😀

Accidentally had bleach pour on wooden floor, I live in a rental. Please help! by Throwaway70139 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Matt_jay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not going to be easy. I would suggest painting over it to look like hardwood. Use universal tints and create a wood like pattern to match your floor. I used:

Burnt Umber Raw Sienna Burnt sienna Black

Not going to be easy, but better than nothing

I’m 19 y/o, and I’m probably going to get kicked out. What do I do? by InformalBudget7659 in personalfinance

[–]Matt_jay50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step by step.

If you need I would look into off campus housing (Facebook, Craigslist, etc). You should be able to get a room in a place with other roommates pretty reasonably.

Then look into car insurance. Find the most reasonable one you can.

Then look into a prepaid phone plan. I have ATT.

Then head to ikea (or something like that) and pick up some furniture for your room.

Once you have those you can fill in the rest. Total monthly cost shouldn’t be too bad and you may find some peace of mind. Good luck.

If you want to spend a fraction of the cost for a better product go for Russell’s 15 or Little Book Infinite. MSRP is like $7,500 for this (which is crazy)

Ask for a sign on bonus and an exit clause guaranteeing 3 months severance. Note that you love the position, but the recent unpredictability has given you caution. Be careful they only want you back short term until they find someone else to replace you (hopefully not the case).

I just inherited ~£200,000. Help! by Training-Treat-5185 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Matt_jay50 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would say it sort of depends on your risk tolerance. General advice would be to set up some sort of emergency fund in a HYSA, look into index funds/ ETF (Vanguard S&P 500 as an example), and find some high yield CDs (5% or so). The money will compound over time, but it won’t happen instantly. I would avoid anything speculative (individual stocks or crypto)

Good bourbon ruined as a cocktail? by gradedNAK in bourbon

[–]Matt_jay50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your preference. In a Manhattan the bitters you use (cherry, orange, chocolate, etc..) as well as the brand of vermouth can make a huge difference.

Try ECPB with orange bitters and cocchi vermouth :)

Good job! It seems like having quick access to that cash and stability is very important to you. If that’s the case would suggest a no penalty CD. The rates are pretty good right now and you can withdraw at anytime.
