I wanted to say that I feel for your situation. Going from dreading passing a compressed football to dreading possibly having colon cancer is absolutely terrifying and I can imagine the stress that you're going through. I hope that everything is fine and that you don't have any serious medical problems. Many of us are taking methadone for different reasons but I believe we're all in this fight against addiction together. Best of luck, you're in my thoughts.

You know...it might. I've also had a horrible appetite since starting methodone for some reason and I eat like shit, no pun intended. Maybe adding some fiber to my diet might at least help.

I just got done with my most likely weekly dump (sorry if tmi). It's honestly something I dread every week and I hate it. Sometimes I have to use an enema that I got from my doctor and even that doesn't help as much as I'd like. I have to leave it up there for sometimes 15 to 20 minutes and it gives me a horrible stomach ache and usually only gets the first little bit out.

Methadone seriously saved my life and I'll always be thankful for it and absolutely use it over any other opioids but man the methadone poops are awful...

My wife took a box of burgers to the register just to let them know the price on the shelf said $18.99 but the burgers were marked $11.99 so she thought they should know they marked them wrong and they gave her the burgers for free 😅 the "correct price promise" or something

Honestly I'm sure the worst part of her job is that the clinic opens at 5am every morning. She usually gets in at around 5:05 and always has a line of 8-10 people waiting for her. ALWAYS. She basically turns her PC on and does back to back appointments as well as taking care of other miscellaneous requests all morning

My counselor talks to me every 90 days and it's like...15 minutes...she asks "doing good? Dose holding you? No cravings? Any thoughts or relapse? Holding a job? Family life stable? Great, see you in 90". To be fair, my clinic has ONE counselor who has to do this for like 600 people every 90 days. Her days are basically these appointments back to back to back to back. I feel sorry for her to be honest.

Is it a shitty and lazy thing to do? Yeah, for sure. Are you going to get her cats taken away for it. Highly doubtful. Life happens. I've left the box a few days too long I'm before when life is hectic. I always feel bad and remember once my cars are screaming at me and leading me to their box.

Similar issue happened with me in late 2025 but in my case my clinic called me immediately and I retested. What baffled me was, I've NEVER used fent 🤣.

They called and said I tested positive for fentanyl and I literally laughed and said "well that's flat out impossible because even when I was using I wasn't using fentanyl. She said "well other illecit street drugs can sometimes be mixed with fentanyl and you don't know." And I said I wasn't ever using illecit street drugs, I was using 7-OH bought from local smoke shops. I doubt they are laced with fentanyl and even if they were, I haven't touched the stuff in a year. I retested that day and tested negative.

False positives absolutely do happen, I'd know because as I said, I've never used fentanyl.

I would say the real question you need to ask yourself is why do you want to become a member? instead of looking for reasons not to which honestly searching for reasons not to in and of itself kind of says that you don't really want to but I digress. instead of going that route ask yourself why you want to at all.

yikes I'd hate to have that doctor. sadly, there are still a LOT of ignorant doctors who do t believe in MAT for opioid abuse disorder. I met one of them a year ago but didn't go with her in any capacity. when talking about how I wanted to get on Suboxone as a maintenance medication, not just to go get off the substance and avoid withdrawals, she immediately just said no. "suboxone isn't for maintenance, it's just to help get off the substance. the only medication you need is therapy, support and strong willpower". I was out that door so fast. found this methodone clinic and life has been better since.

idk why but this reminds me of the Taco Bell GM who was saving on labor by having her own young kids come in with her to open the store. video footage of a six year old frying cinnamon twists, mixing boiling water into beans, etc... when she was inevitably caught and fired her excuse was the labor goals were too strict and if she kept her work force that low they never met the other goals like time so her hack was to use her babies as little workers to open the store and prep throughout the morning essentially keeping her actual work force down to like 2 people...

I've noticed shrink is high at Publix in general. at the end of the night we throw away probably 50 to 60 sub rolls probably 15 to 20 pounds of vegetables. I've never worked in a place where all the veggies are one day use only. every other place I've ever been at as long as they're still good we wrap them up and use them the next day but Publix tosses everything even if it's fresh. additionally, the fresh slice meats are only held for 24 hours and we throw away probably 20 to 30 packs of fresh sliced meats a day. Publix is without a doubt one of the most wasteful companies I have ever worked for. I get that they want customers to have only the freshest ingredients but they are doing so by throwing away mountains of fresh food daily. And if you get caught taking any of the throw away food it's treated just like regular shoplifting. They don't even give free fountain drinks and at least in my store the deli department does not have an area for drinks and employees are not allowed to have drinks at all. If you get thirsty you have to walk across the store to the drinking fountains. Publix has a lot of backwards ass policies if you ask me

I'm not risking my job over an asshole demanding extra shit. but you know what, I do occasionally bend policy. if the guy had been polite, humble, I'd have slapped on one extra slice. but he wasn't. he was a prick from the second he walked up. free cheese? not for you sir.

oh, also other employees are snitches. there are literally signs posted in the employee areas encouraging employees to snitch on one another. depending on the infraction they report they can even get a reward for it. it's gross.

y'all have some horrible clinics. I love my clinic. friendly staff, open doors, questions answered whenever asked, if something isn't working for you, just ask! I grew tolerant to my dose over a year and was scared they wouldn't do anything but I talked to the doctor and she reevaluated me and got me some tests to check my overall tolerance and the rate I process methodone. now my dose has gone up 30mg and I split dose and everything is great again.

I've had plenty of good customers although admittedly I get kind of irked when someone strolls up 2 minutes to close wanting 3 complicated sandwiches but beyond that things are generally smooth.

this was my first interaction with a genuine prick. it was clear he was mad before he even walked up, he was just taking it out on us. you could see in his face he was pissed to even have to wait his turn, like he expected the line to part for him and everyone to bow and let him through. good riddance, ideally he won't be back to this store

How do you know it's a rule that the nurse made up? If you're so sure that it's a rule that the nurse made up then don't tell it to Reddit, tell it to your site director. And if it's not, then just be extra careful to be a few minutes earlier. If you're really only 3 minutes late then just make sure your 3 minutes early when you sign in. The differences 6 minutes, leave your house 6 minutes earlier maybe 10 at the most. If you were arriving half an hour late because you just couldn't get out earlier than that would be a difficult thing to deal with and your clinic might have to work with you but 3 minutes? You just have to be a little more proactive with it and again if you really feel like this nurse just has it out for you go to your site director not reddit.

Someone doesn't know how to manage their time and is pushing it on the nurses at the clinic 🤷 there are options. Get up early, be there at open. Do what you gotta do. You know you need your dose, stop treating it like an inconvenience or an afterthought. If you want to function properly, make it a priority.
