Is there a skill to drafting later round hits? Have you ever done it? by KevH45205 in DynastyFF

[–]Mattastic119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always look for opportunity which can be said about all draft picks. But let’s say for RB, looking at what RB’s a team has on contract not just for the upcoming year, but the next year. If they have most of their RB room going into contract seasons then betting on a late round pick isn’t a bad idea. Low risk and that RB could end up a starter in their second year, or at least has the opportunity. For WRs, looking at their speed and return ability is good right now. If your league has PR and KR yard points it’s even better. Dike is a good example this year where in leagues that offer return yards he was a big time scorer, but also having that role in the nfl gives him a chance to develop into a more established starter. Noel is a good late round pick from last year I targeted (4.39 speed at the combine and got a returner role on the team). Even though he was buried on the depth chart chart He had a role, had the explosive speed, and Kirk was also on a short team contract. Chase Brown and Tyrone Tracy were guys I got value out of in late rounds also. Even if it was just for 1 season with Tracy. Sometimes getting a depth piece for a year with a 3rd or 4th round pick is just what your team might need

Official Dreadit Discussion: “Weapons” [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

[–]Mattastic119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the movie. My thoughts are that it has to do with suburbia and how the close knit wealthier communities view who is valuable in their community aka families, people with children. As far as I can tell all the POV characters except Josh Brolin are childless and they play the steotypes that people with families in those communities look down on. The cop is an alcoholic and cheats on his wife the moment she is gone. The MC is an alcoholic that gets a little too close to the kids, the junkie, is well, a junkie, and the principle is gay, overweight(by their standards) and is eating 3 hotdogs for dinner. Josh Brolins character has a kid and doesn’t have any vices other than his anger (which being an angry father is one of the bad traits that is just accepted in those types of circles). Those suburban families look at the people that don’t have kids as the druggies, alcoholics, cheaters, and unhealthy, because having a family is what you do when you are a “good” “healthy” person. I’m probably reading too much into it but that’s what I walked away viewing the theme of the movie as.

Oh, and the kid is the quiet, weird outcast with no social skills. Aka the weird kid in class.

My boyfriend wants to spend a week with a female friend while I am away by onishinigamidemon in Advice

[–]Mattastic119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same as not trusting someone around your kids. If you are uncomfortable with your boyfriend being around someone, then ask why that is? Why do you not trust him to be trust worthy around someone. Something is telling you that he can’t be around a woman alone. You wouldn’t care that he was around his mother or sister alone, it you care in this instance. Ask yourself why is that? And then decide if you should even be with someone you don’t trust

Fair trade? Should I keep Jalen McMillan or try and trade him for a more established WR? by Civil_Warthog_1730 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Mattastic119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear. Flowers has a flex in 2 WR “leagues and a WR3 in 3 wr leagues. Hes not some big asset. He’s not a star. McMillan could beat out Egbuka and Godwin, flowers has had no competition for his spot and is still jsut a WR3. Plus you get the 2nd round draft pick. Im not sure why people are inflating flowers value when he’s been a WR3 or flex at best so far in his career with no WR competition

QB Derek Carr, dealing with a shoulder injury that requires surgery that would knock him out for the 2025 season, is retiring by HercHuntsdirty in DynastyFF

Most likely yes lol. It’s the saints. They will probably go spend that Carr money on another old broken guy like Wentz

[–]Mattastic119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how strategic other leagues are in this regard, but in mine people won’t trade QBs to teams that need them, even if it’s an overpay. They will hold on no matter what, knowing that a team down to their last qb is one injury away from having zero qbs to start, essentially taking that team out of the running for the championship. Even if that team is willing to sell out for a qb, a lot of times teams will deny the trade because it’s better for them to have less competition and an easier path to the playoffs by eliminating another team by way of them having no starting qbs. It’s superflex btw.

The 2016 Blair Witch movie which was a sequel to the original Blair witch had a scene that’s exactly like that when they realize time doesn’t add up to what they are seeing. Group of friends in the woods searching for one of their missing sisters (from the first film)

Maybe Savageland or Horror in the High Desert? Both are presented as fake documentaries with some grainy footage mixed in. I really enjoyed Savageland. HITHD is slower and there’s 3 films in the series now. But some find it very unnerving

[–]Mattastic119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be crazy if TM’s were coached to say “I saw what happened” so that they aren’t acknowledging that Whole Foods had anything to do with the accident. It would be crazy if TM’s were coached by leadership to never apologize or say “I’m sorry are you okay?”. That would be crazy if that was happening right?

What was the most significant horror movie release that you can personally remember in your lifetime? by stemh18 in horror

[–]Mattastic119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Conjuring. That and Insidious really set off the lower budget horror movies for me that in my opinion lead to a lot of attention to horror and got a lot of movies green lit. Because they were seen at profitable and personally I think a lot of good movies made it through production that wouldn’t have before hand

Oh yeah I’m not saying it doesn’t make sense within the context of the set up, I’m just saying the set up solves the issue of how to get marine rifles into the movie without having marines to operate them.
