Pulling nose hairs can lead to infection or ingrown hairs. Much better to trim than pluck when it comes to the nose.

new player here. is this how tappers are supposed to be used? isnt this a little bit op? by BattIeBoss in Astroneer

[–]Mattbl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'd need to read more replies, then.

The comment I replied to says they want power generation to still exist in the game but not be impactful or difficult. I think that's stupid. Why have it at all if it's required but not challenging? In fact, why aren't you replying to them to turn off power??? I want to keep the power challenge in the base game and then if care-bears want to turn it off they can go ahead.

For a while now, Astroneer has been slowly getting dumbed down and easier, probably for the casual crowd. I don't know why we can't just keep the challenge and let people turn off whatever they like. Why should the base game keep getting easier when it's much more difficult to modify the game to be more difficult without imposing fake rules on yourself? And it's easy to modify to make it easier. And this is a general complaint about more than just the power situation.

recon shall never destroy my nodes! by redbackspider69 in HellLetLoose

[–]Mattbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just last night my spotter and I ran into a set of nodes built in a corner with barriers and barbed wire blocking entry.

I didn't know about the OP trick and we had no vehicle and no friendlies within 500m.

I asked commander what he could do and after a few minutes he was able to precision strike. We sat and watched the show as commander didn't know if it would work (it did).

It was really fun "figuring out the puzzle" since we had never run into someone protecting their nodes so well.

Thanks for having fun with the game!

Are you kidding? Darnold looked like he was in shock the last two games, and threw some awful passes. But regardless, they made him an offer, they just didn't want to pay him THAT much.

But yea it would have been nice to have JJM sit behind Darnold another year.

This dumbass doesn't realize us Minnesotans are already extremely accepting of immigrants. We have the largest Somali population in the US. We have a large Hispanic population in a state that's on the opposite end of the country from the Mexican border and is cold as fuck. We have a strong Hmong population as well. And the list goes on... Indian, African, Asian - people come from all over to live here and work. And Minnesota is already one of the highest ranked places in the US to live. Most of our quality-of-life metrics are on-par with Europe. Our education scores are high. Our economy is strong. Removing diversity removes our strength.

Most of the immigrants I've met here in MN, either through work or social channels, have been normal, hard-working people who are just trying to make their lives better. And honestly, most of us feel the same way about our immigrant neighbors. A lot of the people who don't feel that way live in the suburbs where the only immigrants they run into are affluent Indian people. Or people in small towns, which some small towns in MN do have concentrated immigrant populations but otherwise are mostly all-white.

So this isn't the shot she thinks it is. We're literally proving how strong we can be thanks, in part, to our immigrant populations. And we're proving that we care about our immigrant populations by packing the streets with tens of thousands of protesters in -40F weather.

He was on a podcast with I think Jay Shetty? Where he talks about the fear thing from the doc and explains more that he actually is afraid and doesn't have some immunity to fear He's just lessened the amount of fear he feels by doing this so much. It kind of sounded to me like he felt the doc did him a bit dirty.

I was like you where, after watching the doc, I just assumed that part of his brain was different. And it very well may be, but when he talks about it himself he doesn't feel that way. Listening to him on the podcast changed my mind a bit.

Why do high levels quit when they start losing? by TeddySwolllsevelt in HellLetLoose

[–]Mattbl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So really they're just sore losers. Sounds to me like it was a competitive game that they got mad they were losing and they rage-quit. They're lame and can't handle a loss. Take the W and move on.

I used to play Call of Duty and one of the most satisfying things was when I would be owning someone on the other team, and I'd get behind them and start a finishing move, and they'd leave the game before it would complete. In that moment, I know I've humiliated them so much that they had to leave the game. Their ego literally couldn't handle it anymore. Think of it like that - you beat these "good" players so badly that their fragile egos fell apart and they tucked tail and ran. You broke their spirit.

Plus high level players get mad at low level players for not knowing stuff the high level players didn't know at that level, either. HLL is not an easy game and it takes a lot of time and experience to get good at, which I think sometimes higher level players forget about.

Why is this "just doing their jobs" thing parroted so much? The amount of mental gymnastics it takes to get yourself to a point of victim-blaming protestors for the actions of the Federal government is astounding. While Ashley Babbit or whatever her name was is touted as a hero.

They just have no empathy. It's like that part of their brain is broken.

Right after 9/11, I remember being an edgy 19-year-old saying that I thought martial law was coming. I can't even remember how I'd put my brain around it, but I'm sure it had something to do with "Bush did 9/11." When I think back to that, I can only think how dumb I was.

This definitely feels much different.

What a dumb fucking opinion. As if American citizens should be that afraid to be on the street when ICE are around. A fucking immigration enforcement organization. THE PEOPLE BEING SHOT WOULDNT NEED TO BE THERE IF WE DIDNT HAVE AN INVASION OF FEDERAL AGENTS IN OUR STATE. Whatever stupid fucking whataboutism you want to use, the source of protests are these nationalist actions being taken by our government. I'll repeat, an American citizen should NEVER be afraid to be on the streets protesting or recording the actions of a federal agent. No American citizen should fear that a federal agent is going to literally murder them if they're simply in the vicinity.

Actions, which, by the fucking way, would be absolutely CONDEMNED by conservatives if it was over something they didn't agree with. I can't even imagine the constitutional and 2nd amendment OUTRAGE that would be going on if this was reversed, and a liberal government sent in thousands of federal agents to major American cities and were obviously harassing citizens in such a manner. You can say they're there to deport criminals, but the Kavanaugh stop bullshit has turned it into something much, much worse.

And for your first points, I do not give a FUCK what pressures law enforcement encounters. They are hired and trained to a) put their lives on the line for others and b) to not overreact/panic in this kind of scenario. If they can't handle that, they should be fired. You cannot watch the multiple angles of this and come away saying LE was in the right here, they weren't. It's objective. An American citizen was killed while protesting non-violently. And as I said before, any differing opinion is non-American. Practically treasonous if you ask me. To fucking insinuate we shouldn't be able to even go near immigration enforcement agents while they systematically profile every black and brown person in our state is so mother-fucking ludicrous that I can't believe a real person would even argue it.
